Publisher's summary

This presentation features an exclusive special introduction by James Patterson.

Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this sequel to 1st to Die.

The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco appear to be unrelated except in their brutality. But detective Lindsay Boxer senses there's some thread connecting them all. She calls her friends in the Women's Murder Club together to see if they can discover what it is.

Working with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a link. Each of the victims had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a chill through Lindsay's heart.

The partners in the Women's Murder Club deduce where the killer is likely to strike next and bait a trap that can't be resisted. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be lethal. And there will be no second chance.

Engrossing

2nd Chance did not quite live up to the standards set in 1st to Die but is worth the read. It is fast paced and follows many twists and turns before finally reaching a surprise conclusion. This series should be read in order.

Love the story!

I love everything Patterson. However, the narration reminds me of sitting in my fourth grade classroom floor hearing my teacher read out loud.
Need the narrator from the first book!

It feels like parts are missing

There were some parts of the audio that felt missing, or that the audio had a glitch and made some parts have no audio for about 10 seconds

Great book, narration awful

Definitely a hard listen with the female narrators dull, emotionless reading. Found myself having to rewind to pay attention properly. The storyline was great, just hope different narrator for the next book.

GREAT BOOK, TERRIBLE NARRATION

I love James Patterson, all of his books are great. The woman reading this story is awful.

Surprised at the end

As I listened to this story and it was getting to the conclusion, my thought was "please do not let a character I liked get killed or be the killer...whew....
Great ending !!
