Publisher's summary

This presentation features an exclusive special introduction by James Patterson.

Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this sequel to 1st to Die.

The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco appear to be unrelated except in their brutality. But detective Lindsay Boxer senses there's some thread connecting them all. She calls her friends in the Women's Murder Club together to see if they can discover what it is.

Working with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a link. Each of the victims had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a chill through Lindsay's heart.

The partners in the Women's Murder Club deduce where the killer is likely to strike next and bait a trap that can't be resisted. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be lethal. And there will be no second chance.

I love the friendships

I love the friendships & the women who are making their way in the world supporting each other. I don’t know how I feel about the narrator but I’m warming to her.

Great book but no emotion in the reading

What did you like best about 2nd Chance? What did you like least?

Melissa Leo has NO emotion when she reads. Everything is read in the same tone. No flow . The story line is great. Just wish someone else could have read the book.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Melissa Leo and Jeremy Piven ?

I would have picked another narrator than Melissa Leo. Not good!

Could you see 2nd Chance being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

YES! Don't know

enjoyable

Kept my attention. Never ever irritating that the main character apprehensive danger without a bulletproof vest. Amazing she wasn't filled.

Excellent

I love how the narrators intertwined with each other. And the twist of the father and son was great!

Not what I had hoped

I have enjoyed other Patterson books but, having read two of this series, I find them somewhat disappointing.
The character development is weak and the relationships seemed forced.
I’ll go back to reading other Patterson books but two of this series is enough.

Second chance

It was a great suspenseful novel. It was exciting yet depicted some of the hate problems of today.

Monotone narrator kills the book

Unfortunately the female narrator is so monotone I couldn’t enjoy the story. I thought maybe she’d grow on me after a few hours.... that wasn’t the case. I stopped listening after two painfully boring hours. I’ll continue to listen to James Patterson books, however. I’ll avoid this narrator at all cost.

Not my favorite Patterson book.

Police Officers don't normally act like any of the officers in this book. Read Here I Stand by Robert Fletcher to get a better idea of how Police Officers operate.

Glitches

I actually really enjoys the book; however there were parts of the book that glitched and would cut out. Aside from that, great character development!
