Publisher's summary

This presentation features an exclusive special introduction by James Patterson.

Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this sequel to 1st to Die.

The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco appear to be unrelated except in their brutality. But detective Lindsay Boxer senses there's some thread connecting them all. She calls her friends in the Women's Murder Club together to see if they can discover what it is.

Working with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a link. Each of the victims had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a chill through Lindsay's heart.

The partners in the Women's Murder Club deduce where the killer is likely to strike next and bait a trap that can't be resisted. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be lethal. And there will be no second chance.

Great

I really love this series, I feel like I'd like to hang out with Lindsay, Claire, Jill and Cindy. But wow, the narration was bad. I've heard the first three in the series - this was my least favorite.

Great story line

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Biggest downfall is the narrator drags out some of her words when she talks and I found it annoying. I like the first books narrator much better. Either way, GREAT book! On to book three!

Great second book!

I am really enjoying this series...Woman's Murder Club. This story was different but the writing style was definitely the same. I enjoyed how they had a female and male voice reading in this story. Same twists and turns as last but still very surprised and happy with the end.

Story okay, performance not great

Melissa Leo may be a good actress but I struggled listening to her record an audiobook. Jeremy Piven was better but it was unnecessary to have two voices reading. The plot was similar to the first of this series - female detective guesses the wrong killer at first only to walk into a showdown with the real killer at the end. There was also little to no explanation of the motive of the real killer, I'm still scratching my head as to why this ended with the killer it did.

LOVED!!!

Loved the story but didn't like the guys voice. It was too casual for the role. The story was still great though. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

Narrator leaves something to be desired.

I enjoyed the story. The narrator doesn't do a good job of differentiating character voices.

Narration

Good story, bad narration. It took away from the story by the way, the narrator spoke.
