It's ok

For being a cop she over reacts to situations with the kid. Also letting your cellphone get almost dead is unacceptable for her position

Please write the story alone James Patterson

What did you like best about 12th of Never? What did you like least?

I absolutely love James Patterson. That being said..... I think he should write the stories alone. I find that they become disjointed. The Woman's Murder Club books are my favorite of his although I've read all his others. The 12th of Never was disappointing, too many unrealistic things going on. No mother .. Not even Lindsay would leave her baby in the hospital and go to work. And Clare never mentions Rosie or her family. There's too many things left out that would have made the story not only more realistic butentertaining.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It's made me question future Murder Club books from James Patterson. And that is very disappointing.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I've not only read but listened to all of the Woman's Murder club series. And from the moment the narrator spoke I was disappointed. I can hear Lindsay in my head and changing narrator's was distracting. Before each new book I re listen to the whole series.Hopefully the 13th will find what was missing in the 12th.

Could you see 12th of Never being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I totally loved the tv series and was disappointed when it wasn't continued.

Any additional comments?

I am not saying that parts of the book weren't enjoyable. But, it was too disjointed in some ways. Things could have been better. That whole scene with Lindsay outside of her apartment running into Joe's ex partner was like a footnote. Nothing more was mentioned.
Why was she there? Did she tell Joe? Is she going to pop up in weird places for no reason?
I'm making this sound too negative. I love this series. I love the plots and characters. This one just short changed us. And I really didn't like the narrator at all.

James Patterson never disappoints!

12th of Never took me on a rollercoaster ride of the best kind. Each installment of the Women’s Murder Club is just as good as the last. I only finished this book a few moments ago, and can’t wait to download the next. January LaVoy’s narration was on point and she really helped me feel the story.

Not the usually great story line for the WMC

This is my least favorite so far in this series. Too many coals in the fire, no substance to keep wanting to hear more. I do miss Yuki’s mild accent, especially when she speaks as her mother, just not the same listening to her with a totally
English accent.

Great story.

Like all the rest of this series, the story is very good. The only change I suggest is the voice of Yuk Castellano sounds like a small child.

Pay Attention to the Previous Reviews and Comments

Would you try another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro and/or January LaVoy?

Not sure...I have not been pleased with books that are co-authored with James Patterson. I would compare the collaboration to that of dental hygienist and a dentist. The hygienist does the most work and the doctor briefly checks the work and passes you on. This is how I perceive the Patterson-Paetro collaborations. The stories are not up to the Patterson quality. I would probably not purchase another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro and/or January LaVoy. I would check the book out from the library first and review it prior to making a purchase.

Has 12th of Never turned you off from other books in this genre?

This has not detered me from books of this genre. However, books in this particular series will be suspect.

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think this is the first narration that I have experienced from January LaVoy. In my opinion she was not bad.

Did 12th of Never inspire you to do anything?

absolutely nothing!!

Any additional comments?

Perhaps this series has run its course. What else can happen to these characters? Murder investigations are plentiful. These stories are becoming predictable and somewhat boring. With Lindsey being married and now a mother, her edge as an officer will suffer. Joe has become an accessory and "damn-it-doll" being beat up constantly. The other characters have also lost their interesting edge. Time to let these ladies move on.. and quietly disappear to literary heaven.

Not as food as usual.

Reminded me of the writing exercises where individuals write a chapter after reading the one before. No real flow.

Best book of the series!!!

By far my favorite of the series. Was going to wait for my next Audible credit to start the next one, but I could not deny the cliffhanger.

Great Book But...

I wasn’t a fan of the ending. That may change come the 13th book. At least I hope it does.
