A rising star football player for the San Francisco 49ers is the prime suspect in a grisly murder. At the same time, Lindsay is confronted with the strangest story she's ever heard: An eccentric English professor has been having vivid nightmares about a violent murder and he's convinced is real. Lindsay doesn't believe him, but then a shooting is called in - and it fits the professor's description to the last detail.

pretty good

It was a little hard to follow... still entertaining however. I'll keep buying the series.

Just okay

If you have read a Women's Club mystery in the past this will be a disappointment. The are formula books. Hated the end because of that.

Series Maintains Quality

I am amazed that these books continue to entertain. Most series decline. I do have one complaint: PLEASE get rid of the awful sound effects and music.! Both detract from the excellent narration.

WHERE ARE THE BODIES

What did you love best about 12th of Never?

This one is set at a quicker pace than the others in series. Could not stop listening. Started book at 7 pm and by 1am I stopped and went to bed and started where I left off in the morning. Shorter book than the others but really good storylines.

What did you like best about this story?

The more personal side of the characters came out a bit more in this book. Gives more insight into each one. It helps to know what makes them click.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy – was your favorite?

Richie Conklin. There was a sensitivity that was only aluded to in the other books. I'm not a fan of changing readers in the middle of a series but January did ok with the reading. The distinction between the characters wasn't as pronounce as Carolyn McCormick's performance, but January's voice and cadence made you listen and want more.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"WHERE ARE THE BODIES???" for sure

Any additional comments?

Getting ready to listen to Unlucky 13. A little sad that 14 isn't out yet.

Nice Addition to Series

Would you consider the audio edition of 12th of Never to be better than the print version?

I do not know. I think I would have enjoyed reading the print version.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot kept me involved. I liked the different story lines

Did January LaVoy do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Her voicing of Lindsay was good. I did not like Yuki's voice. The voice of one of the killers made my skin crawl. I liked Carolyn McCormick's narration better.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction. I thought the storyline with Lindsay's baby was poignant. Lindsay is my reason for following this series. I am not really interested in the other three woman.

Any additional comments?

Recommended only if you have followed the whole series.

Not my favorite Women's Murder Club book

I'm not sure what has happened to this series. I blame it on the change of narrator. Carolyn McCormack was the voice of Lindsay Boxer. They changed to January LaVoy and Lindsay became whinier. I always wanted Lindsay and Joe to marry but it hasn't improved the character or the plots.
I also agree with other reviews that there were too many plotlines running through this. Yuki's court case was too much. I like when she is involved in a case involving the other women. Yuki seems to have become the favorite character. I have never been that fond of the Lindsay/Rich partnership and I don't like where the Rich/Cindy relationship ended up.

I get the feeling that this book was more of a result that it was time for another book rather than any thought or feeling behind it.

12th of Never

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Probably not, it just didn't "grab me like the others."

What did you like best about this story?

The beginning!

What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does wonderful voice work, with changing characters inflection,, etc.makes you feel like you're standing there watching them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The beginning, when she's having her baby!
