Publisher's summary

Your best friend...

Lindsay Boxer is pregnant at last! But her work doesn't slow for a second. When millionaire Chaz Smith is mercilessly gunned down, she discovers that the murder weapon is linked to the deaths of four of San Francisco's most untouchable criminals. And it was taken from her own department's evidence locker. Anyone could be the killer - even her closest friends.

Or a vicious killer?

Lindsay is called next to the most bizarre crime scene she's ever seen: two bodiless heads elaborately displayed in the garden of a world-famous actor. Another head is unearthed in the garden, and Lindsay realizes that the ground could hide hundreds of victims.

You won't know until the 11th hour

A reporter launches a series of vicious articles about the cases and Lindsay's personal life is laid bare. But this time she has no one to turn to - especially not Joe. 11th Hour is the most shocking, most emotional, and most thrilling Women's Murder Club novel ever.

Story keeps interest

Enjoyed the story, although it is becoming predictable. As Boxer appears to always be the hero. I do not like this narrator.

A-1 Installment To The Series!!!

I've read all of the books in this series and this one is now one of my favorites. A good mystery! I enjoy the interactions of all the characters. Highly recommended! New narrator for this series - January LaVoy - did an EXCELLENT job! Loved her narration of this interesting tale!

Good Storyline Bad Main Character

The main character is a totally unlikeable shrew. She is jealous petulant and it’s her way or the highway. I enjoy the stories. And the other female characters are capable and smart. Three stars because of Lindsey Boxer.

Changing audio series narrator is always bad!

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Carolyn McCormick OWNS the voices of these characters! I anticipated this book for months, only to be disappointed. January LaVoy isn't a bad narrator, but the fact that her voices were non-character-specific ruined the book for me.

When the character voices have been defined throughout a series, I anticipate the "sound" of the specific character. I had to back up several times when I got "lost" in the dialogue.

Familiar characters evolve, solid story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The women's murder club series continues to portray strong female characters dealing with personal and professional ambitions, but not at the expense of the intensity of the story. Lindsay and her cohorts struggle with balancing professional boundaries with friendships as well as the whole marriage-kids-career triad. The story itself is intense and eery, and took a twist I didn't see coming.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 11th Hour?

The moment that they saw the arrangement for the first time was pivotal to the rest of the story. Don't want to give away the story, so that's all I'm gonna say:)

What didn’t you like about January LaVoy’s performance?

I didn't care for January LaVoy's performance at all. Her accents were weak and inconsistent at best. Having listened to a number of the women's murder club stories by Carolyn McCormick, I developed an expectation of her voice and performance as the expression of Lindsay Boxer, etc. LaVoy is a weak substitute.

THE BEST!

I've listened to all the boooks in this series up to this one and #11 is the best by far. I did not like the change in narrators though. After listening to 1 person for 10 books they project an idea.
