Publisher's summary

You'd know Fred Stoller if you saw him. He has appeared on practically every great sitcom you've ever seen - Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, and Murphy Brown just to name a few. But he has never been a regular on a series, always the guest star. He longs to find a showbiz home. Instead, he is a television foster child, shuttling from show to show in the vain hope that one will finally agree to keep him. My Seinfeld Year tells the hysterical and bittersweet story of what happened when Stoller finally got a shot at the showbiz stability he'd always dreamed of - as a staff writer on one of the biggest television shows in history.

I loved this!

I had no idea who Fred Stoller was (sorry Fred) until I heard his narration. Immediately I knew the person speaking!
This was a great little enjoyable listen.
I think you could pull off your own show ;-) but in the meantime I will be happy catching your characters whereever they turn up on my viewing dial.

Interesting

Great book to learn about that guy in shows that we never remember his name but we know him.

Enjoyed Fred's perspective

If you could sum up My Seinfeld Year in three words, what would they be?

Insightful, genuine, vulnerable

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Seinfeld Year?

The way Fred developed stories from his own life.

Which character – as performed by Fred Stoller – was your favorite?

n/a

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It was touching how understanding and compassionate Fred was toward others who were unkind to him along the way. It's as if he gave everyone tremendous latitude and understanding. He seemed immensely appreciative of every small "win" in his life.

Any additional comments?

I'm so glad he narrated the book! It just wouldn't have been the same otherwise.

Amusing!

There was a little "woe is me" but I think Fred does that on purpose for effect. This guy is funny!

Super interesting

I only wish it was longer! I love the peak behind the curtain into the stressful but supremely interesting world of show biz.

Over too soon!

This was a wonderful story, and I was genuinely sorry when it was finished. It’s never easy to swim against the current and follow your own path. Fred takes us there, to the crossroads where he has to decide. It’s a triumph when he resumes what he loves, despite even his own lack of confidence.

Interesting glimpse into sit coms

Author presenting his story added a lot to my enjoyment. Filler to get to 15 words.

Window into the life of a repeat guest star

Interesting story. Frequent guest star. Writer on Seinfeld for a year. A quick listen. Insight into how sitcoms are made.
