Publisher's summary

Between training the new town garda and trying to set a wedding date with her fiancé, Macdara Flannery, Siobhán is feeling a bit overwhelmed. She’s looking forward to visiting the new bookshop and curling up with an exciting novel - only to discover the shelves contain nothing but Literature with a capital L. The owner not only refuses to stock romances, mysteries, and science fiction, but won’t even let customers enter his store unless they can quote James Joyce or Sean Hennessey.

Despite the owner deliberately limiting his clientele, he’s hosting a reading and autographing event featuring up-and-coming Irish writers who will be taking up residency in Kilbane for a month. Among them is indie author Deirdre Walsh, who spends more time complaining about the unfairness of the publishing industry and megastar best sellers instead of her own creative works, causing a heated debate among the writers. She seems to have a particular distaste for the novels of Nessa Lamb.

Then Deirdre’s body is found the next day in the back of the store - with pages torn from Nessa’s books stuffed in her mouth. Now, Siobhán must uncover which of Kilbane’s literary guests took Deirdre’s criticisms so personally, they’d engage in foul play....

Always satisfying!

Carlene O’Connor’s books are so charming and her Siobhan O’Sullivan is so richly drawn!

Crazy Authors and Busted Birthday Party

Love this series and number seven is no exception! Siobhán is about to celebrate her 29th birthday and feeling a little overwhelmed at being almost out of her twenties, when the party has to be postponed due to the lights going out . . . and a murder! The author found murdered, with pages of a book stuffed into her mouth, was not well-liked . . . but who would have hated her enough to murder her? Siobhán and the rest of the Garda are on the hunt for a killer in Kilbane. The quirky bookstore owner who won't stock anything but LITERARY fiction also has the town frustrated. Hang on for the ride, as Siobhán and her fiancé, Macdara Flannery uncover the clues, as well as discuss a date for their upcoming wedding. Excellent listen and a conclusion well worth the wait.

Great story!!

I loved this latest book in the Irish mystery series. The mystery was different and interesting, and I especially loved the character development of the main characters. Great ending!! Also, I can’t forget to add that this narrator is fantastic. I love her Irish accent, and her timing and storytelling is flawless. Can’t wait for the next book!

Keep these books coming....

I'm nearly to the end of the currently published books, and I can only hope this series continues for years to come. This was another fantastic read with enough red herrings to make you laugh. It was a delightful, and though I'd guessed who did it, the author cleverly convinced me I had it wrong only to spring the who-dun-it on me in the end. I highly recommend this series, and though each book is a stand alone within the story line, do yourself a favor and read them in order. Worth every penny (or credit) spent!

So enjoyable! The characters now feel like family.

I think this installment was my favorite in the series so far! Ireland, a bookstore, and a mystery - perfect!

Unfortunate editing errors

A good series and I like the narrator but this installment has at least 3 repeated phrases in this book. Tsk tsk.

Great Series

This one is all about writers and books. Perfect story from a good writer. Who would know more about the ins and outs of the authors’ world? The murder is also most unique.
I love the voice of Caroline Lennon. Wish I could visit Ireland.
