Publisher's summary

  • Dioses Puramente Romanos
  • Las Criaturas de la Mitología Romana

A necessary book

I really appreciated that the review sections did not simply test students' knowledge, but asked them to apply what they had learned.

Decent place to start

This is a great book with wonderful retellings of the Roman myths. Although some myths are different from what I know, it was refreshing to hear about the myths from a different point of view and to compare the myths to other myths or their original tale.

Awesome

The Roman myths certainly changed my perspective on life and creation. These creative and seemingly hysterical stories are--after all--somewhat logical.

Oh my Gods

Oh, My Gods is a good book, albeit with a misleading name. There is nothing modern about these retellings. But the title intrigues people.

Best

A good retelling of traditional Roman myths. Even though the book is textbook-like and written by a professor, most of the stories flow as well as any fiction work.

Good information

This book summarizes and retells different versions of myths in a super coherent way. It is categorized by characters and written in a (mostly) chronological order, which makes it very easy to follow through.

Nice Roman Mythology

I love this book because if I were to write a book on the subject, it will be like this entertaining guide that explains all the great myths and explores how they have influenced language, art, music, psychology, and even today’s popular culture.
