Publisher's summary

Escape to the breathtaking Cornish Coast this winter, where the ocean sparkles in the moonlight and romance crackles like an open fire. This gorgeous new love story by million-selling author Holly Martin is the perfect treat to warm your heart this Christmas.

Artist Zoey Flynn hadn’t planned to spend her favourite holiday on the shores of Jewel Island, but when her fiancé breaks off their engagement before their Christmas Eve wedding, this Cornish paradise is just the distraction she needs.

With a cosy cottage to call home for a month and a stall at the island’s famous Christmas market to sell her paintings, Zoey quickly puts her heartbreak behind her. Love is the last thing on her mind. That is until the handsome Kit Lewis crosses her path....

Their connection is instant, but Zoey has a secret. And the deeper she and Kit fall for one another, the harder it is to hide. Kit knows Zoey is holding something back, and if she won’t tell him the truth she could lose him forever.

Is keeping a promise from the past worth sacrificing a future with the man she loves? Or might Kit be the one person she can trust?

Love, laughter and long-hidden secrets are waiting for you on stunning Jewel Island. For fans of Jill Mansell, Sarah Morgan and Sue Moorcroft, this is the perfect tale to curl up with this Christmas.

Jolly good story!

Loved the twist, loved the leads not knocking around with unnecessary twists and turns. Great story.

Brilliant and Beautiful!

A perfect love story. Although not for those who are uncomfortable or squirmimish about sex.

Happy Christmas in England

Kit and Zoey were a delight to watch fall in love in less than a week. They both came to enjoy the holiday market. Neither was looking for a relationship. Both having been dumped and cheated on in the last year. The one thing strong between them was no lies. But is a secret a lie or moisi of information? What if that secret is not yours to tell? What if that secret could destroy another relationship or reputation? How will this all work out.

I enjoyed my holiday visit to Cornwall in the winter. The queens English was clear in this sweet romance. English slang and euphemisms were entertaining. Thanks to the narrator. It would not have been the same without you.

Near cozy Christmas confection

The first half is Christmas cozy perfection with a funny meet-cute, followed by a series of funny firsts (first date, gift, kiss, etc). The small town vibe and cheery London accent add to the light, bright romance.

The second half inches away from cozy ever so slightly. There’s one or two minor swear words like sh! The sex is so mild that it might as well have faded to black (the only anatomy mentioned is lips and her chest). The humor from the first half gives way to an eensy-teensy bit of angst based upon a secret.
This half is sweet and the HEA is never really in doubt.

Painful to listen to narrator

WOW, sadly the narrator destroyed any enjoyment I would have derived from the story. Her voice was simply awful! Strangely, I could tell when she was over smiling and forcing a sing song upbeat tone which translated to nails on a chalk board. I could not get through the book so I gave the story an avg 3 stars. it might be better or worse sadly unless I come across a free Kindle copy Ull never know. Also I will NEVER listen to any book read by Penny Andrew's in the future. she's did they not audition her 1st?

I could not get through the story

No matter how hard I tried to listen to this I just couldn’t seem to get through it and finish it. I don’t know whether it was that the story wasn’t constantly moving or the fact that it was just boring. I also don’t know if it was the fact that I listen to mainly American narrators so the British accent was hard to get into. I just think holiday reads are meant to be very upbeat, festive, short and sweet books and this was just not that at all. Good luck to anyone who wants to try and finish this listen.
