Publisher's summary

In the latest installment of Ann B. Ross's New York Times best-selling series, Miss Julia takes a trip to the beach, only to confront a hurricane roiling off the coast - and all the trouble it washes ashore.

Sweet and generous Sam has decided to take a big group trip to the beach, inviting family and friends including little Latisha, leaving Lillian to enjoy a quiet vacation taking care of only herself. While Miss Julia prepares for the big trip, her longtime friend LuAnne comes to her with a horrifying discovery - her husband Leonard may be cheating on her. When the two discover more convincing evidence, Julia invites LuAnne along to the beach to get away and clear her head - and to keep from doing anything rash.

Everyone settles into the rental house and six-year-old Latisha is having a blast searching for seashells when she discovers some much more valuable treasures that have washed up from a strong storm off the coast. As the storm nears, the crew packs up to head back to Abbotsville, and it appears that the strange couple they met on the beach are in a car right behind them - a coincidence, Miss Julia thinks, until they show up in Abbotsville threatening Latisha and demanding that she hand over her newfound treasures.

In another highly entertaining and delightful installment in the series by Ann B. Ross, Miss Julia must rely on her quick wit and strong will to protect Latisha, get to the bottom of LuAnne's predicament, and once again save the day.

Totally enjoyable!

I just love the Miss Julie books. They are humorous while still representing life for an older southern woman bred for class.

Love Miss Julia

Any additional comments?

The narration of this series is perfect. The phrases used by the characters are ones I heard from my grandparents, and we were not from the South. The mystery is good, and it is also enjoyable to listen to how the characters interact.

Love every visit with Miss Julia.

This series is so funny. And the narrator is spot on. Love the way she says "Mr. Pickens" and "Oh Hazel Marie!" This was one of my late mother's favorite series, I think because there was so much of the proper Miss Julia in her.

Love Miss Julia

This is another great Miss Julia book! Miss Julia, Lillian, Latisha, and Etta Mae make me laugh every time. There are very few excellent readers and Cynthia Darlow is one of them. She is fantastic with the voices. I didn't like the audible of the first Miss Julia book and she didn't read it, but thankfully she has brought the characters to life in every book since. Thanks Ann for giving us another clean, hilarious suspense to enjoy.

The storm!

As all of the books they are entertaining and exciting. Julia was able to come out of her comfort zone and do something new for a change. She enjoyed herself but then the excitement started to happen. Till the very end!

Delightful

As always I thoroughly chuckled and smiled through this story featuring, along with the usual cast of characters, Latisha, Lillian’s great granddaughter. Her blunt observations and self preservation, at seven years old, makes her the perfect target for bad guys. Or, maybe the bad guys are her target?
