Publisher's summary

A hero is born!

On the eve of his father’s death, Tyler Thompson finds himself continually haunted by the memories of things lost. Since that horrible day, he continually gets into trouble, seeking anger as a coping mechanism. That is, until one day, in a tragic turn of events, Tyler, along with his faithful dog Maxx, fall into a cesspool where he is exposed to a mysterious green liquid that changes his DNA, giving him extraordinary powers.

He is befriended by Doctor Gabriel Hutchinson, who is bent on helping Tyler master his superpowers, and when Tyler is given a special alien artifact from his grandfather, his true destiny is revealed. But not everyone is happy for Tyler as the sinister Dr. Payne has other intentions in mind; ones that could spell doom for everyone Tyler holds dear.

Now it will be up to Tyler, his best friend Lukas (who also has special abilities), and Maxx to join forces and put an end to Dr. Payne’s evil schemes. But Tyler will have to make a life-changing decision that could alter the fate of the entire world.

Good story

I received this book for free but the opinion is of my own. Tyler recently lost his father and has been dealing with a lot of bullies until one day he gains mysterious powers. Now, certain people want to take away his powers, some don’t believe him, and there is a hidden secret he has to deal with. Very fun and easy to love story.

Great story!

Tyler lost his father at a young age and has been left to deal with the aftermath by a family who has no idea how to raise a child with PTSD. Behavior problems ensue and Tyler begins to get in trouble all the time. His latest escapade leads him to discover the dumping of a mysterious substance into a cess pool, but Tyler and his dog end up covered in it, and neither will ever be the same. Is Tyler ready to accept his new found life and responsibility?
This is a great story for kids that addresses issues of losing a parent, empowering one's self, and coming of age. I highly recommend it!

Cool

Metatron is cool and the narration was even cooler. What can I say? I guess I really liked this book. Moving on to book 2.

Fun Plot Line but...

This was an interesting book... I found myself liking the plot, it is definitely written for a teen reader, and I was hoping this would be a fun one for my teenage son. So, I was disappointed with the language in it (especially too many taking God's name in vain). I felt there were places that needed a bit more editing and some work on the dialog to make them stronger in several places. The narrator was ok, he did a good job throughout.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Not my cup of tea

I received a free copy of this in exchange for an unbiased review. It was well written and narrated, but not my kind of story. I feel like it was too short and not fleshed out enough.
