Publisher's summary

Melinda Darling has always dreamed of being at the center of the Nashville country music scene. She thought getting her Master's Degree in Music Business would be her ticket to the top, but it turns out managers are a dime a dozen in Music City. With no other prospects and student loan repayments on the horizon, she takes an internship position under the devious Kitty Konstantine. The job was simple: find talent, introduce talent to Konstantine Talent Agency, and keep it all professional. When she finds The 4 Saints, she can see the men ooze with talent, their stage presence commanding rapt attention. When she lays eyes on Matt Saint, she knows she has no hope of keeping it professional.

Matthew Saint has a lot on his shoulders, and he's got the scars to prove it. As guitarist for The 4 Saints, he and his brothers have to live in two worlds. On the one hand, they're up and coming country music stars just trying to make it in Nashville. On the other hand, they're a clan of Bear Shifters that have to be careful who they let get close. Trouble is never far off, and since meeting Mel Darlin', he thinks maybe he's due for a little more trouble in his life.

Not to bad shifter story

I thought Matthew was a decent shifter story. I wish I had more background on the were bears but it was okay and I did like how The Saint brothers stood up Melinda with her awful boss. The narration was kind of tough with the male characters but overall it was nice short read.

A Bear Shifter Music Band..

Any additional comments?

Mel, the female lead, takes an internship position to pay off her student loans.

Matthew, the male lead, is in a band and Melinda is looking for fresh talent for her new job.

They are attracted to each other instantly at a concert and they are both dumbstruck but they lose track of each other after the performance.

Wanting to keep the music band the 4 Saints all to herself, Mel makes a risky decision to look for the band alone which lands her into a risky situation at a bar. Matt has to step in and come to her rescue.

Overall, the story was ok but I always wonder why the author, Becca Fanning , writes most of her books as short stories., as soon as the story starts getting good, its over.

I think it would be time worth spending to read about Matt's brothers, the other guys in the band.

Audrey Lusk did well with the narration.

Quick Story

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have made this book longer. Becca Fanning always writes short books but I always feel like just went I get into the story it ends abruptly. When you take the time to build the story and the shifter world I don't see why you would end the story so fast.

How could the performance have been better?

I wasn't a fan of all of the male voices. A few she made sound unappealing,

Any additional comments?

Melinda Darling was trying to make a name for herself in the Nashville country music scene. She had worked hard but has always been held back and sabotaged by her boss. One night she is out listening to bands and she hears the Saint Brothers play, through some rough scenes she finds them again and is able to introduce them to her boss. Just when I felt like the story began it basically just ended with Matthew saying I love you and Melinda being surprised. I thought maybe it was a peek into the future but it wasn't.

Great first book in the series

I was given this book free for an honest review. I actually didn't read this book first in the series. However, it appears each book can be read individually. Becca Fanning does a great job of giving you a complete story with thrill and romance. The story of Melinda just starting her career as a talent scout or the music industry. She found a singing group with 4 gorgeous shifters. She went into a sleezy bar looking for them and was attacked. Matthew, came to her rescue along with his brothers and promoter uncle. Great story. The narrator is not my favorite, but does an acceptable job.

3 Matthew Stars

Hmm I liked it; I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator. I enjoyed some of her voices but not all of them.

This is a really short story; I wanted more from it because I kind of felt like it wasn’t done.
I don’t really know why I didn’t like this book as much, but I have loved all the other bear shifter books by Becca Fanning

I do want to the other brothers books because you never know they might be my next big favorite.
