Pamela Anderson: Reads Her Memoir and Shares Her Poetry

In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her.

Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life—and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are?

Growing up on Vancouver Island, the daughter of young, wild, and unprepared parents, Pamela Anderson’s childhood was not easy, but it allowed her to create her own world—surrounded by nature and imaginary friends. When she overcame her deep shyness and grew into herself, she fell into a life on the cover of magazines, the beaches of Malibu, the sets of movies and talk shows, the arms of rockstars, the coveted scene at the Playboy Mansion. And as her star rose, she found herself tabloid fodder, at the height of an era when paparazzi tactics were bent on capturing a celebrity’s most intimate, and sometimes weakest moments. This is when Pamela Anderson lost control of her own narrative, hurt by the media and fearful of the public’s perception of who she was…and who she wasn’t.

Fighting back with a sense of grace, fueled by a love of art and literature, and driven by a devotion to her children and the causes she cares about most, Pamela Anderson has now gone back to the island where she grew up, after a memorable run starring as Roxie in Chicago on Broadway, reclaiming her free spirit but also standing firm as a strong, creative, confident woman.

Enjoyed her truth, I related a lot to her life, sounds like she’s living her best life. “Happy for her” ❤️

I love the soothing sound of her voice, I loved her honesty her vulnerability, her love of the simple beauty in life. Her beauty unfortunately makes life for women a bit harder. She should be proud of herself ❤️

Great woman and great story in her own voice

Reading Love, Pamela was heartbreaking and refreshing. A woman triumphant through so much pain. She has kept her hopefulness and joy in the world alive, which is admirable. It’s also apparent that she is so much more than the one dimensional sex object the media has made her out to be. Hearing the book read in her own voice was at once moving, soothing, and empowering.

Love Pamela, literally

Great book, early childhood is a bit heavy. So trigger warning for sexual abuse, rape and animal abuse for those that are not aware. I love how poetic this book is. She is very raw. The only thing is, I feel like a lot of parts were rushed. You go through years of her life in a chapter. But overall it is amazing

Bravo!

Better than I expected. What a beautiful human being- so misunderstood- if only we really know a person. Pamela is truly a STAR!

My new favorite autobiography!

I was expecting beautiful story telling because it is Pamela but I was in awe and still am! She has such a way with words. She makes even the most mundane things sound like poetry. Her story will touch your heart. I laughed. I cried. I’ll probably listen to it again one day. ♥️

Beautiful, smart and caring soul

Pamela breaks up and through all stereotypes. A good lesson in not judging someone without really knowing them. Or, not judging period. xo

Brilliant book by a beautiful soul

If it’s true that most great art can only be created by those who have survived some form of suffering or tragedy, then this book not only proves the point but goes way beyond. Authentic, raw, poetic at times, mournful, soulful and a joy to listen to, this is a wonderful testament of one person’s will to overcome misogyny, aimless contempt and many ugly faces of humanity. Others may have eventually caved into sorrow and profound grief, when having had to deal the deck she received, and Pam Anderson demonstrates how to win with love, compassion and an exuberant joy for life. I’m so happy she wrote this book, and thankful that we have the privilege of living vicariously through her. As a woman I am thankful she leaves this behind for other females as an inspiration.
