Publisher's summary

USA Today best-selling author Colleen Coble delivers romance and suspense in a beautiful West Texas setting.

Five years ago, Shannon Astor left the beautiful high-mountain country of West Texas as a single mother. She was desperate for a fresh start and a way to keep the secrets of her past buried. It almost worked.

Until a chance to make a better life for her daughter leads her right back home. To the very place of the past betrayals.

But it also leads Shannon to horse-trainer Jack MacGowan - her handsome high-school nemesis, now a widowed father. His daughter looks so startlingly like her own that Shannon can't help but question the circumstances surrounding her daughter's birth. Wary of each other's intentions, Shannon and Jack reluctantly join forces to untangle a deep mystery that swirls around Shannon's parents, a lost Spanish treasure, and a legendary black stallion.

If Shannon can learn to entrust her secrets to the man falling in love with her, the truth just might set her free.

I LOVED IT!!! Lonestar Secrets Spoke to my Heart!❤️

Out of the mysterious deserts 🌵of West Texas 🏜comes a love story as intriguing as the twisted rock and canyon crags and tales of old Spanish treasure. Shannon comes home to raise her daughter and take over a local Veterinarian office. She runs into her old high school nemesis who’s daughter is the exact image of hers! And the coincidences, mysteries, intrigues, and adventures go on cohesively until the last page. What a page- turner! I highly recommend!

Fantastic narration!

The story is solid. The narrator brought it to life. She is probably my favorite narrator of all time!

Embrace the moment

Just as life is lived in moments, so this book was written with several pivotal moments. And the reader, who is excellent, knew how to embrace those moments. However, I did miss Devin O’Day. She is my favorite from her many years on the big 98.

Unicorns

Like unicorns, this story is not real-life.
Maybe one or two of the events could be believable, but too many unrealistic side-plots.

To much like 1st book

This book was a copy paste from first book. To marriages stuck in a Loveless marriage. Forced to marry to save child. I was not a fan. I love her books but this one really is my least favorite. Plot and story made me roll my eyes entire time

Unbelievable!

I know this is a work of fiction, but it is completely unbelievable! I liked the idea of the story, but all the things that happened were SO far fetched, and the actions of the characters just so incomprehensible. So many unlikely calamities occurred, that it just became laughable. I supposed a Gila monster attack could have been added..... I want to support Christian authors, but really, put more effort in the writing.
