Publisher's summary

Some secrets are buried for a reason. She’s about to uncover the deadliest secret of all...

Anxious and reclusive, Cora Blackthorn uses online gaming as her sole tether to the outside world. Due to a condition that makes human touch crippling, she lives her life confined to a small island in the Puget Sound, never accompanying her mother on her tomb-raiding adventures.

But when her mom sends home a cryptic SOS in the form of a mysterious package, Cora discovers the shocking truth behind her extraordinary affliction. Her condition isn’t an illness - it’s a gift not of this world.

Armed with a powerful alien amulet and her mother’s journal, Cora heads to Rome on a desperate rescue mission. But on the way, she discovers that a secret society is hot on her trail, and she has no chance of outrunning them. Her only chance is to confront them head on.

A clash within the twisty catacombs beneath Vatican City leaves Cora with a perilous choice: find her way through an ancient, deadly labyrinth and save her mom, or fail and die.

Legacy of the Lost is the first book in the captivating new sci-fi adventure series Atlantis Legacy. If you like ancient mysteries, Greek mythology, treasure-hunting adventurers, and dynamic characters, then you’ll love this exhilarating adventure.

Ok that was surprisingly good

I had a hard time pulling the trigger on this. I love great stories about Atlantis and Greek myths BUT so many authors let you down trying to pull them off that it makes me hesitant to try another one because I almost certainly know I’m going to be let down. I had a bunch of credits to burn so I figured why not try just one book…

This book is an incredible and an incredible start to a series and I think I have to go get books two and three now. Lindsey did an amazing job of blending myth and originality. She did an amazing job altogether with no modifiers attached to that praise. Then you add in Dana’s narration and I’m transported to a happy place and forgetting all of my anxiety and everyday worries. Thank you both for that.

Note to the editors: in the future, can you make the chapter breaks a little shorter? I kept thinking my phone died or the app quit or something…

Cool plot. Enjoyed the action between the two time periods. Hard to put the down book down. End is a cliff hanger. Makes me ready to get the next book.

A fabulous start to the series!

A fast paced story that takes us to Rome and through a world of myths and legends. Loved following Cora on this adventure! I first read the books and now am listening to the audible, because it is THAT good :)

Cora is a normal person, with wishes and dreams and wanting to do everyday things. But a mysterious illness keeps her bound indoors, where physical contact is limited. Any skin to skin contact causes incapacitating migraines, friendships and human comfort only causes pain. Her only escape is the online, virtual reality gaming world, where Cora has made some friends. But a letter from her mother is going to literally force her out of her comfort zone. She is going to need to face her fears and in her search for her missing mother, she might just find herself and possibly even a way of handling her migraines.

[Sacrifice of the Sinners, the prequel novella, is absolutely fantastic, and gives you a good background to the whole plot. It is not necessary to read/listen to that first, but it is actually a great story too.]

As for the narration, I liked Dana. She has a really nice, pleasant voice and it is easy to listen to her. She just lost one point because sometimes it felt that she was reading a little too slow, especially in the fast paced scenes. And there is a long pause between chapters, that sometimes made me think the APP had frozen.

Series Draws You In

I listened to book 1 before book 0 but it all still made sense. The narrator does a really good job including doing male voices. The premise was interesting. There was much to enjoy in this series, mythology, religion, science, technology, history. The characters were relatable, the story intriguing, and the mystery enough to keep you drawn in.
