Publisher's summary

Do you try not to be late, but it just keeps happening?

You are not alone - one in five people struggle to be on time, and would love to change their lateness habit. Until now it’s been a lonely battle, but in this trailblazing audiobook Grace Pacie, a lifelong self-confessed "Timebender", reveals the surprising truth about why we are late - it’s not a personal failing, we are hard-wired that way. She explains not only when and why we are late, but also when and why we can be early; what is going on in our brains; and what we can do to fix it.

Based on a potent fusion of psychology, self-help, and 10 years of researching fellow sufferers, this audiobook shows us how we can make sure we arrive on time. Written with a light touch, and oodles of humour, Grace dissects our singular approach to time, and in a joyful reversal of conventional wisdom, also shows us the positive side of our timebending tendencies.

Includes 20 tried and tested tips to get you there on time!

Great book, great audio

A much needed topic with encouragement for improvement as well as understanding. Love the audio as well - great voice and occasional sound effects.

Powerful. Useful. Funny. Humbling.

Easily one of the most instantly useful books I’ve read. Twice through. Just the term… Time Bender… opens doors and possibilities.

A must read for us late people!!

I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first because of the accent but I pushed through the 1st 10 mins and it grew on me. I enjoyed this book very much. It's very informative w a little humor. I understand alot more than I did before I read it. I found serval things in it I will try in my life of tardiness... I hope it works or at least helps. I'm going to re listen to a few chapters and for sure the workbook part it can only help! Im so glad someone did the research and wrote a book on this subjet. It was much need for us "time benders" I will use this phrase from now on. You won't be disappointed, give it a listen/read.

Fantastic

It took me years to find a book like this. What an incredible insight into my life and my habits. It’s almost scary how accurate this book is! It made me realize how my mind works, and now I can recognize the behavior, with hopefully results to change. Thanks so much for writing this book. It will help many people.

Something that worked for me

I found this book to be insightful about how I think when I am late. One thing that I am doing now is I am rewarding myself by arriving on time to an event so that I am more motivated. Great book. Highly recommend for those who also not late and want to understand this type of thought process.

Finally, something helpful

Helped me with the "why" of it all. Plenty of books give how to. It also helped me understand how other people around me function when they put off things, etc

I'm a Time Bender.

Time Bender. It sounds like a super power. It's much better to describe something in a positive way than in a demeaning way. I've often felt like so much of a failure with my frequent tardiness. I would often gaslight myself into thinking I was putting the needed time into appearance rather than just wasting time before work. I used to say to myself, "better late than ugly." But now I say, "better on time than out of work." I like being on time. However, I do hate being early...Especially to work. Primarily because my work, although being very important to me, is an extremely toxic environment. I never realized that I was receiving dopamine from rushing around all the time. Now, I still rush. I run like hell to arrive to work earlier than the day before. Then, I sit in my car, eat a small meal, talk on the phone or listen to music until the exact last minute in which I can get to the clock and swipe my badge to clock in. This is usually about 3 minutes before the hour. I absolutely must pre-prep everything including bathing, meals, hair, uniform, cell phone, ID/work bag and shoes. Even coffee is pre-prepped the day before so that I only push the "on" button and walk away. I try to leave nothing to chance. I also use 2 alarm clocks placed in another room so that I'm not jarred awake. I still hit the snooze button. I just have a 2 snooze limit now and set my alarm a bit earlier. Snooze one is for a pee run and turning on the heat. Snooze two is just because I can. I also set my cell phone alarm clock to alarm in 10 minute intervals until I leave out. This way I keep an eye on time and don't lollygag on any single task. I have committed myself to re-listening to this book on a bi-weekly basis. I wish there was a local weekly meeting.
