The Pimsleur® Method: the easiest, fastest way to learn a new language. Completely portable, easily downloadable, and lots of fun. You’ll be speaking and understanding in no time flat! Spanish Phase 2, Units 26-30 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Spanish. Reading Lessons are included at the end of Unit 30. These 16 lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to give you practice reading Spanish, and to provide you with some insight into Spanish culture with proverbs, common expressions, and a broad look at some of the things you’ll see when visiting a Spanish-speaking country. A Reading Booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

As a former ESL teacher, I recommend this program above all others. Throw out all your various language learning methods and keep only your reference books. Forget the silly stories and all the expensive language schools. With a slight amount of discipline - 30 mins per day - you'll be speaking and understanding more of your chosen second language with every carefully crafted lesson.
These lessons are perfectly constructed to build on previous lessons. You can repeat any lesson as much as you want while you move to a new lesson each day.
I spent a lot of time and money on teachers and lessons and learned a little but nowhere what I need to converse in Spanish in Mexico where I live half the year. I recommend you quit wasting money and get these lessons. Then join a conversation group and speak and listen to native speakers.
I still teach English as a Second Language on a volunteer basis in Mexico but I tell my students - get the Pimsleur method if you're really serious about learning fast.
Reading, the arts and physical activity clarify, explain, illustrate, and interpret life’s goods and bads.
Pimsleur Digital language learning is the best semantic instructional tool in the marketplace, bar none. That is not to degrade Rosetta Stone, also a fine learning product, its just that I find Pimsleur provides an even better inculcation of the language. The program contains thirty minute lessons or conversations in which one must partake.
The sessions start with a short conversation in the subject or to-be-learned-language which one must listen to; are relative easy to hear and usually understandable, although in the subject language. Imbedded in that conversation are elements of past and the upcoming lesson. Then one goes through sentences in your native language and are asked to – based on past learning sessions – speak the subject language. After you have had your opportunity the program speaks the sentence you verbalized or should have spoken. Often, the program will give you new words or idioms in advance but for the most part one is expected to learn the words from their conversational context. It works! One’s mind begins thinking in the subject language. Each lesson is repetitive but not annoyingly, rather in a supportive fashion. Each successive lesson builds on prior lessons and are almost always referring back to much earlier lesson content.
It is not only instructive but fun. Of course, just abstract learning in not enough. One must find himself/herself in conversational context with the language in everyday life. Short of that opportunity the product is exceptionally good.
