"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)
This program is so effective and very enjoyable. Its a really good way to learn spanish. However they dont use 'tu' forms at all. i bought the books until the end of unit 2 but so little use 'tu' forms in conversations. always using 'usted' form. we are not that polite in real life. :)
I do like these lessons but wish I was allotted a little more time to come up with the answers as I frequently feel rushed. I think it is also problematic not to know how the words are spelled as I am a visual learner and wish there was a workbook to accompany it.
This is an effective and efficient language program. I personally have gained more from this method than the others I have previously tried. In my opinion, it is a beneficial approach for an individual who took Spanish in school and needs a brush up instead of starting from an empty platform. I highly recommend this.
This is an excellent way to learn Spanish. I've only been doing it for about three months and I'm beginning to feel I can understand some native conversations. It's fun!
It's easy to use and stick too. But even if you lapse for a month as I do occassionally...you find that you still know the vocab! I would recommend this to anyone who has struggled with language learning in the past.
It is very well designed and recorded, and could be used while you are driving or walking. Example of optimal usage of audio...But lack of any visual materials doesn't allow for people, like me, who can not digest material without seeing some of it, make it much less effective. As the result I am creating my own flash cards from listening... too much work......
I have enjoyed the first four books of this series. However, because each year is divided into five books, it is expensive. I wish each book was twice as long. There is no reason to have only two and a half hours on each book. If you buy the textbook, you get a $100 credit towards the audio, which would cover most of it though.
