Outstanding Audiobook on Learning Spanish!

This is an ideal audiobook for anyone who has some experience with the Spanish language. It has taken me from a frustrating less than basic level of Spanish to a flowing conversation level. I feel comfortable in most everyday conversations now. It’s motivated me to continue learning to one day reaching fluency in the language.

But accomplishing anything worthwhile takes some work; this audiobook is no exception. The work in this audiobook are the lessons. Just complete them as the author has presented and you will have the same success I have had! Ms. Barrett has the gift of teaching. She presents her lessons in an easy and simple to understand style. After 18 years of schooling, I can recall only a handful of my teachers having that kind of talent.

One last thought, I purchase audiobooks regularly and a key factor for me is the narration. The contents of an audiobook might be fantastic, but if listening to the audio is unpleasant I will reject it; just not bother with it. In this audiobook the content is excellent and so are Claudia Barrett and Rebecca Maria performing the narration; very professional, motivating and pleasant voices that bring the lessons to life!. If you’re serious about boosting your Spanish proficiency to an amazing conversation level, this audiobook will help you get there. I highly recommend it.

Tedious

Any additional comments?

This is a grammar and vocabulary book read out loud. Far too tedious for my taste. I gave the performance 3 stars because the readers are satisfactory; it's just the material that's unbearable.

What a fun way to learn Spanish

If you could sum up SkyRocket Your Conversational Spanish, Volume 1 in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining, engaging, and educational

What did you like best about this story?

I like that the vocabulary was presented before the reading of the story to help me understand better what words to listen for when the story was read. The testing and repetition helps with the retention of new words and application.

What about Claudia Retif Barrett and Rebecca María ’s performance did you like?

The voices are very clear and using different voices helps you focus.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This is great for ongoing learning and to help stay fresh with Spanish skills. It's real confidence builder.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to more Spanish books from this author.

So incredibly boring

There's a ton of vocab in here but it seems so random and much of it is useless. As an intermediate learner I want to practice conversation about everyday things and expand practical vocabulary. Seriously, this audio book is trying to get me to learn phrases like "nostrils of the heart". it's word after word after word, lacking context within a story or conversation. I dont recommend it unless you want to learn a bunch of random words or need something monotonous to put you to sleep. There's much better stuff out there, keep looking!

Perfect for Intermediate and Advanced Learners

What made the experience of listening to SkyRocket Your Conversational Spanish, Volume 1 the most enjoyable?

The book is packed with useful vocabulary that is presented at a reasonable pace. While the pace if reasonable, the number of vocabulary words per chapter is high. I haven't counted the number of words and phrases but I need to repeat chapters to retain the information (four exposures is typical for storage in memory). I completed all the beginning books I could find and I really needed to expand my vocabulary in a serious way to be able to communicate with native Spanish speakers. This book is definitely helping me achieve my goal and I plan to look for other books in the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of SkyRocket Your Conversational Spanish, Volume 1?

Rather than memorable I would say the information is highly useful. So many things I try to say appear in the book and I can use this vocabulary in my daily life as well as job as a bilingual teacher.

Which character – as performed by Claudia Retif Barrett and Rebecca María – was your favorite?

I really couldn't say. The native Spanish speaker (male) was slightly harder to understand than the native Spanish speaker (female) but it was good to have exposure to two voice pitches.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it is almost nine hours and I will repeat each chapter multiple times to master all the vocabulary.
