Great explanations

quite helpful and comprehensive. I studied Spanish for 4 years of high school and I feel like now I understand when and why one should use one phrase or word over another and the shortcuts to certain adjectives rather than the literal word for word "gringo" translation!

Best for Mexican Spanish

Mexican Spanish Accelerated is a great course and has really helped me.
My wife is from Mexico and their Spanish is sooo different from our next-door neighbors from Venezuela. When I speak my basic Spanish to my wife’s family and use the Spanish from Venezuela they say “¿Qué?. Totally different.
This program has totally changed all that. Now my wife’s family understands me and tells me I sound like a Mexican when I talk. Not bad for $19 bucks.

Too much Castilian Spanish, makes it confusing.

What made the experience of listening to Mexican Spanish Accelerated - 8 One Hour Audio Lessons (English and Spanish Edition) the most enjoyable?

Much Better Than Pimsleur

If you want to learn only three words of Spanish vocabulary, then buy Pimsleur.
If you want to speak Spanish like the real Mexicans do, then buy Language Audiobooks “Mexican Spanish Accelerated” by Mark Frobose.
Buy it, try it, and you’ll see what I mean. Great program!

Very Interactive!

if you listen to this you will see and hear an improvement. if you listen and practice this entire book at least 12 times... there is no way you will not be able to speak and form sentences and have a good understanding of ser and estar. Plus all the practice lessons are the basics of communicating with actual people. This book helps you think in the way of how to form the language in your head and say it and practice it. Its basic but advanced in it's way of actually helping you hear the language and not just interpret but to infuse the language. For example you will know how to say work in Spanish but you will also know what the word work in spanish means without translating it into English..... you will just know that work in spanish is what it is ....
its pretty cool, it breaks that language barrier and helps you learn like you did when you where a child learning your first language.

Both Acceleraded Spanish 1 and 2 are the same way, its like having a tutor .... and it's not boring like most Spanish lessons.

Try it!

Great Program for Learning Real Mexican Spanish

Where does Mexican Spanish Accelerated - 8 One Hour Audio Lessons (English and Spanish Edition) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right at the top with Power Spanish and Power Italian.
The difference is that "Mexican Spanish Accelerated" is more specialized and focused on real Mexican Spanish.
For instance, here I learned that the Mexicans LOVE to put "le" after verbs.
Instead of just saying "Anda" or "Go" they like to say "Andale". No other country does that, and you learn these cool things from the get-go with this program.
Another fascinating thing I learned were all the Mexican Nahuatl words that we have incorporated into American English like "Chocolate" "Tomate" etc .... Mexican indian words that are a part of both Mexican Spanish and American English.
Wow. That's good stuff to know.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the native Mexican speakers in the program from different parts of Mexico with their authentic accents. I can't believe some reviews actually complaining about a program that is so complete that it teaches you a language in such depth.

What about Mark Frobose’s performance did you like?

Mark is a "friendly instructor" type of voice presence. He's like an expert guide say "Watch for this", "This means this and that means that".
I consider his explanations, motivational tone, and guidance to be a major key in making this program so excellent.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

How to "platicar" in Spanish with real Mexicans using real Mexican Spanish.
Most Spanish programs teach "conversar" for "to converse" but almost all Mexicans use the verb "platicar" for converse. I learned that one and a million other distinctions from this program.

Any additional comments?

Like with all Language Audiobooks programs, this one gives you a lot of of bang for your language buck. No BS. Just rock-solid teaching of fundamentals, great memory techniques, and interesting educated native Spanish speakers along with Mark, making your language journey a memorable and effective one indeed.

Book has great technique, but with flaws

Any additional comments?

This audio book has repeat same exact sections for learning verbs and short sentences as are in other same language audio books by this author, verbatim - copied identical in each book and copies multilple times even within the same program, sections repeat again and again. It would be better if the levels graduated in difficulty and you progress through and then when going to the next level in another audio book, you did not get the same audio lessons repeated at the level you just left in the previous book, but instead got new words, grammar, and tips to correspond with the title and the level. I have learned and polished up my intermediate level refreshing through this and others books and I like them, but that part of these is a huge frustration. I want challenge and more words and conjugation practice beyond Tener, Querer, Quisiera, Soy and Estar. In every book and every level, to keep learning "Donde esta el bano por favor" is frustrating. The same main verbs are the entirely of 8 hours of instruction with some exceptions, this is the same on at least three 8 hour audio books I have purchased from this author. Would be nice to have variety to match the titles more correctly and to increase learning. I have a rock solid understanding of everything on these titles, but after all of this, the total volume of the learnable language is minimal because you only re-learn over and over the same limited segments of Spanish. The style is great, the knowledge shared is accurate, the lessons pleasant to listen to, but the actual amount of knowledge that could have been learned in 24 hours of audio listening between 3 audio books, is surprisingly small in total. There are also little blips throughout where it is clear that the recordings have been clipped and edited for repetition and at times the male spanish speaker's diction is not clear so the words sound muddled and unable to understand. Overall, it is good, but should have been much better. There is potential to have been excellent, but it only just good.

Should be clearly labeled as a beginner level book

This book should have been titled "Mexican Spanish Acccelerated for Beginners" as it is definitely at the beginner level.
It has a lot of repetition at a slow speed, which is very good for beginners. It is not that helpful for anyone at a more advanced level, except for a very basic review.

Challenging and Friendly Mexican Spanish Program

Any additional comments?

I've been looking for a good Mexican language program for a long time and I found it here. It made me reasonably conversational in real Mexican Spanish in just a few weeks of semi-intense study during my down time in the car and while working out at the gym. I liked the complete illustration of differences between Spanish speaking in Mexico compared to other Spanish speaking countries. No guessing, full explanations. Mark the narrator/teacher explains, along with some great Mexican Spanish speakers. I also learned a lot of common Mexican phrases Real bang for the buck on this program.

Excellent approach that teaches the little-known nuances between standard and Mexican Spanish.
