Surprise your friends! Astonish your family! With Pimsleur, you'll be speaking and understanding like a native in no time. Thirty minutes a day is all it takes.
French Level 1 Lessons 6-10 builds on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak French. Reading lessons begin in unit nine and provide you with an introduction to reading French. These lessons are designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)
I listen in the car on the way to work most mornings. I like how it builds upon everything it teaches and gets you speaking conversationally very quickly. If I keep this up for 6 months I'll be ready for a trip to France in no time!
This is a really good french course: it does work. I started to learn german with pimslaur first, and experiencing surprising success I also bought the first few of the french course. It goes a bit slower for me than the german, but I studied german at school years ago so I gues that helpes with that.. I go quite slowly with french but I notice that it is getting easier and the words and sentences just stick on me after a while. I think this learning program worths its price and it is really effective. I would surely recommend it to friends in the future (as I already did in the past).
"Not a bad course"
These are the more advanced Units of Phase 1, it follows on from Unit 5. The course, like the previous units, tends to provide a sentence, and then breaks down all the words in the sentence, and the pronunciations for the words. As I mentioned in the title, not a bad course and I'd recommend it to help supplement French learning. As a side note most of the Pimsleur course seem to follow the same learning approach and if you like one of the other language programs you'll probably like this one.
