Publisher's summary

Collins French with Paul Noble combines an exciting new non-traditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.

Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a ground-breaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of study. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.

Part 1 of the course covers:

  • Language ground rules
  • The use of the past tense
  • Finding French words used in English
  • Asking questions
  • Essential vocabulary to use when booking into a hotel, taking a taxi, and eating out.

A native-speaking French expert helps Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress.

Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. (Use the accompanying booklet as a reference and revision tool.)

Best language learning intro out there

I took 5 years of French classes long ago in high school and unfortunately have forgotten most of it. I was looking for a course that really refreshed my French skills, but more importantly helped me learn the language rather than just memorize and forget. In 3 hours, I feel more confident in speaking French now than ever and actually understand what I’m saying. I will definitely be purchasing the remaining lessons with Paul!!

Paul Noble is amazing!

This was an easy listen. Paul Noble's teaching method is efficient and lighthearted making it easy to remember by allowing one to forget. Sounds silly to some, but really works! I look forward to learning more languages through his teaching.

Great resource for an introduction to the language

I've tried French before with other methods, but never with one as effective as this. Even for me, a non native English speaker, I have been able to follow perfectly the pace of the course, with the constant satisfaction of really learning, not memorizing and always eager to learn more.

Easy to follow and understand

You'll have to listen to it a few times to get a good grasp on everything. However, the first time through the first chapter (out of 3) and I learned basically all of what my French teacher tried to teach us in French I. (She was a bad teacher.) Paul Noble is a very good teacher, and makes things easy to understand and follow.

Best one there is by far

I've listened to a couple of French audiobooks, but luckily started off with this series. It's the best from all the ones I've listened to. Paul explains the concepts extremely well and gives ample time to respond. He says in the beginning that you shouldn't focus on memorising, it will come naturally through repetition, and that's exactly what happened.

Excellent!

So far so good, my husband is first language French and thinks after listening to this book twice, that I am coming along nicely with the language!
I'm on to Level 2 now.
