Publisher's summary

In this inventive and heartfelt take on a dystopian space opera, humanity’s last hope comes complete with a space station, an attitude, and …whiskers?

Civilization has fallen. The solar system is blanketed with the automated weapons of ancient wars, engineered plagues, hazardous waste, rogue AI, monsters from outside our dimension, artificial disasters, and nuclear climate change. Every moment of life on Earth is a brutal fight for survival. The people of Sol carry on, but hope is at a premium. They need something more. Someone with a plan, a savior, a hero.

What they get is Lily. Owner of the last functional battle station for the last four hundred years by right of being the last living soul on it, Lily ad-Alice has spent all that time struggling to save lives, fend off loneliness, and operate human-made weapons controls with paws and meows. Four centuries of establishing protocols, figuring out how to utilize an irresponsibly large arsenal of orbital weaponry, and scraping by with what life support still functions.

Lily doesn’t have a plan. She can’t even tell how haunted her home is. Every day is an endless stream of alarms and crises—it’s a lot for a lone desperate housecat to handle herself. But being the proprietor of the last piece of working orbital infrastructure in existence is a responsibility and duty she’s accepted anyway.

Now things are changing again. Something big is looming, and everything Lily has scrambled for hundreds of years to achieve is at risk. But if she’s quick, maybe she can do some good. If she’s cunning, maybe she can adapt. If she’s smart, maybe she can build something that lasts this time. And if she’s very, very lucky, maybe she won’t have to do it alone.

The hit science-fiction tale—with more than 900,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Loved it

What an incredible book! I loved it. Another review states the book felt directionless, and while I can kind of understand why they think so I feel the way the book was written makes up for it. The main character is a cat, who doesn’t love cats. The rest of the characters are equally as fun. The story and pacing in my opinion felt really solid. This review is pretty scrambled as I don’t write reviews often and have no sense how this is done, but I felt the book deserved one.

The ending made the rest of the book worth it.

This is not a Well written book.
But the ending is so amazing!
It takes the whole book to set up an ending that good.
If you like the sample, The book is something you will enjoy as well.
Humanity first! We will prevail!

The most fun I've had in a long time

This is the most fun I've had listening to a book in a VERY long time. Lily may be a cat, but her emotions are 100% human and relateable, as are those of her companions throughout the story. The world she inhabits is described with just enough detail to make me want to visit, while being very sure I wouldn't want to live there 😆 And even if Argus hadn't polished their setting and characters to a fine shine, the pacing alone would have kept me listening. The pacing of Kitty Cat Kill Sat makes it feel like a TV show in the best possible way. There's always something exciting happening, but the main conflict is allowed to simmer until the very end, when all the previous storylines come together for a glorious and gutwrenching finale. This is a story that can be enjoyed again and again- and I can say that with confidence since I've already listened to the last chapter twice.

A well written tale

I wasn't sure about this book at first, but it turned out to be a serious, well written, well narrated, interesting scifi story. Don't let the flippant title fool you. Five well deserved stars.

A Wild Tail of Space, War and Cats

An amazing tale that makes you want to know more about what came before and what will come after. Narration was wonderful...engaging and a pleasure to listen to. Oneof the few stories I can imagine I will be drawn back to for a second listen. We all know that cats are gods....but Lily the kill sat kitty takes it to a whole new level!
