Editorial reviews

Steel doesn’t want Rena and she doesn’t want him sexually, either, except that as a human prisoner of cyborgs she believes pleasing his large, muscled body is her only chance at salvation given choices that run from bad to worse. Mindy Kennedy gives voices to the fears, desperation, and climactic passions featured in this second of erotic science fiction queen Laurann Dohner’s Cyborg Seduction series. What begins as a desperate attempt of a woman on the run to survive turns first into a battle of wills and then into a deep, physical need and passionate relationship whose primary lesson is that you don’t always know what you really want.

Publisher's summary

Book 2 in the Cyborg Seduction series.

All Rena wanted was to steal back a spaceship and earn enough money to buy her freedom from her travesty of a life. Her mission to recover stolen property from pirates backfired and she became a possession when she encountered cyborgs instead. Now, one of them will own her. Rena is a survivor…and she wants the very tall, big, brutally sexy cyborg who doesn’t like to share anything that belongs to him.

Steel is beyond irritated when he is maneuvered into ownership of a fragile human female. She’s not nearly big enough to handle his size or strength, yet she’s determined to get him into bed - into her. Steel realizes just what this little female is capable of when he awakens, chained to his bed, with her riding his very turned-on body. For a man who prides himself on his unyielding control, Steel soon finds Rena stripping him of it an inch at a time.

5 Kissing Steel Stars

I am a FAN... Yep I remember reading these a long time ago but, I am loving them even more now.

I wasn't a fan of Steel in book 1 but he totally redeemed himself in this book. Rena is another human who really doesn't want to return to earth. And being caught up with the Cyborgs really isn't a hard ship for her. Only she doesn't want to be passed around she takes a likening to Steel and does everything in her power to convince him she will be what he needs.

I loveeeeeeeeed how this one ended.. I mean awe and swoon and awe. I don’t want to give anything away but.. Yeah if you enjoyed book 1 you’re going to love book 2.

Again Mindy does a fabulous job with the narrations. I love how she has the right kind of voice and tone for the cyborgs it’s how I picture they would take.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Excellent Continuation To The Series

After devouring the first story in the Cyborg Seduction series, Burning Up Flint, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Kissing Steel. Laurann Dohner has created a vivid and vibrant world in which cyborgs pirate the skies and a majority of the humans responsible for their demise are not aware that they exist. It's an amazing concept, especially when you add some heat into the mix.

In this installment we are introduced to a milder-mannered, yet uncompromising, Steel. He has no need for a woman and currently feels betrayed by the female cyborg he had a unit contract with who betrayed him for another. After his ship is attacked and they are forced to defend themselves, the crew inadvertently captures a female human. She's everything a cyborg female isn't -- small, fragile, delicate -- and unlike the other cyborgs in his accompaniment, Steel has no interest in taking her on as a slave or a bed partner. Unfortunately, his commanding officer Flint takes the issue out of his hands.

Rena was sent to return a ship that was stolen. What she discovers is the ship is now operated by a crew of cyborgs -- beings she has been told were eradicated on earth. She is stunned to see them and is awed by their size, strength, and cunning. When they begin discussing who she will belong to, she is drawn to the large cyborg who mentions a lover's betrayal. She, too, was betrayed by her husband and yearns for something more. Although Steel denies her, she is determined to show the brawny male exactly what he's missing out on. The result is pages that sizzle and leave you wriggling in your seat. Steel might be stronger and faster, but Rena's sensuality cannot be denied.

As with the previous story, the writing is excellent, the pace is fast, and the characters are fascinating. Although I'm not a fan of sci-fi in general, this is a series I fell in love with from the start. It's hot, it's sexy, and it's something original. In a world full of books using the same premises, you can't really ask for anything more. If you've not read this series, you really should. The only small complaint I have is that the sex scenes although hot they are very similar and I would love a bit more variety.

As with Burning Up Flint Mindy Kennedy brought the story to life with her outstanding narration of the story.

Great romance, sex, and believable alien world

Essentially, this is a story of two different beings and natural enemies learning to see the beauty in one another, not physically, though that was certainly a part of their relationship. Much of this learning came through teaching each other about each other and each being willing to learn. The start of their willingness came via physical attraction first, but there seemed to be something more, the indefinable “it”, between them from the beginning. Many of the teachings centered on the knowledge that there’s a time for logic and a time for emotion to be the central element used as a compass for one’s journey. I was sold on Steel’s, the cyborg’s, unnatural desire for Rena, a human, but I think the story lacked a bit of believability on why Rena wanted Steel beyond when she first chose him for safety.
I really liked the image of Steel and his world that the author created. It all made sense and showed some depth and complexity. An additional positive aspect is the more realistic aspect taken towards their sexual encounters. Every encounter didn’t result in mind-blowing orgasms, though all were quite enjoyable. That realism is all-too rare in romances I listen to. The sex scenes had some degree of explicitness, but I think it added to its sensuality and not licentious. These scenes are not long or drawn out, so I could have taken a bit more to them. But they were also not too short or lacking in important detail. The author knows how to write desire and heat. The slight humor in the book, often in the form of some of Rena’s behaviors, was also quite enjoyable. There were several times that a smile naturally broke out on my face while listening to this story.
The journey to the end was one I couldn’t see coming. I was enthralled to see how things would play out. It’s not that this type of ending—which you have to find out on your own—in a romance is surprising, but because of the very good writing, it’s not clear if, much less, how it will occur. This is my first book by this author but by no means the last. I just wish the books were longer. Hopefully her other books are as enjoyable as this one.

Great Cyborg LOVE!

This book was simply great... I started book 1, but gave up soon after... I should have kept going... This is book 2 and Man, it was great...

The beginning was a bit slow for me, because I already had a bad taste for book 1, but I kept going.. and by like chapter 3... I was totally hooked.

Steel was great... but Rena completely stole this book. After she got captured by the Cyborgs when her crew fail to capture the Star ship from book 1 back... Rena demanded to be given to Steel...

Steel was like... ummm, NO, don't want her... but then she shut him down, climbed on top of him and well...Rocked his world... Steel quickly changed his mind... Well sort of...

This book had so much action and romance, all rolled into one... Steel kept trying to give Rena away, and she just kept fight... Seriously, beating up Cyborgs left and right... But the ending.. Man! I was crying by that point, b/c Seriously the reunion with Rena's mother... !!! Tearjerker!

Narration was great... There are several male cyborgs throughout... and each one has a different voice... Great voice narration.. simply great.

Great Credit, Buy or sale... I plan to invest in all these books if they continue like this...

It's Hot, It's Very Sexy & It's Addictive :)

Much Better Than Book I

This story line included a woman who was strong and able. She showed a strength of character that was not seen in book one. I really liked the story line and chemistry between Rena and Steele. This is definitely a book I would listen to again.

Steele stole my heart!

These Cyborgs are finding a way into my heart--with their matter of fact, robotic, emotionless-speak--I'm still falling head over heels! This second story may have been just a bit better than the first. There was just something about Steele that melted my butter!

So far each story has been a really quick delicious listen, and like the previous one, I hung on every word waiting to see what would happen next. I think this is a series that every paranormal romance lover will want.

Anglo earth girl caught by cyborg captin.

The lead female is an agent for an insurance company looking for a lost/stolen space ship. She hopes finding the ship will aid her quest to freedom from a horrible trapped marriage & better job. But, she get kidnap & passed to cyborg captin. At first he is not interested in her due to her being a small human but, she feels the big cammander can help her get a better quality of life than she had and feels he is sexy. Honestly, I like Steel.. He was honest on what he wanted and thought about every little thing that happened. He seemed like a buff "Spock"...I appreciated that all he desired to do is be part of a family unit & have kids. He felt it was his duty. I enjoyed the story. I thought it was cute. worth the credit/money Anglo/earth female with large silver/grey cybor with tribal tatoos..

This Series is Definitely Picking Up!

I love Steel's character in this book. This is definitely an entertaining listen. You won't be disappointed if you are an erotic romance reader/listener.

L D leaves the door open for many storylines with some females as well as male cyborg characters. The narration was excellent.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment.
