The world’s most famous detective. The most brilliant mind in fiction. But before he became the great detective, who was young Sherlock Holmes?
Sherlock knows that Amyus Crow, his mysterious American tutor, has some dark secrets. But he didn't expect to find a notorious killer, hanged by the US government, apparently alive and well in Surrey - and Crow somehow mixed up in it. When no one will tell you the truth, sometimes you have to risk all to discover it for yourself. And so begins an adventure that will take Sherlock across the ocean to America, to the centre of a deadly web - where life and death are cheap, and truth has a price no sane person would pay.

I foung it quite entertaining, and engaging. I was very concerned to find out it's the same story as "Rebel Fire" by the same author, especially since I was impressed enough by this story and it's predecessor, "Death Cloud" to purchace that version as well. I'm not a young reader, unless you call 60+ young, but as a lofelong Holmes fan, I'm delighted with Andrew Lane's stories. They are well-written, full of great descriptions and lots of adventures.
The ability of young Sherlock to find his way out of trouble, just as interestingly as he finds his way into it.
No, but I will look for him in the future.
Just remember, "Rebel Fire" and this book are the same story, they just have different readers.
The adventure that shaped him to what he became in adulthood. I hope Andrew Lane will write more stories about young Sherlock.
The escape from the clutches of the cougar.
Yes, he is an excellent narrator. He has a very distinctive voice and very good reader. I've listened to books that I will normally not read and ended up reading books he narrated either in audible or audio books.
Please bring more of Dan Stevens' narrated books in audible or audio book.
Yes, this is a good story on it's own ; but is even better when read/listen to after the 1st in the series.
Sherlock Holmes, Andrew Lane takes AC Doyle's character and shows how he became
Dan brings the characters to life, with the separate voices he uses. When you read the books some times all the characters don't feel as alive.
