"Author Cornelia Funke (INKHEART) reads this fantastical Christmas fable capably in her German-accented voice, sounding smoky and confiding (and a little like Lena Olin). Funke gives distinguishing voices to many of the characters, particularly Niklas's comical entourage-- plump angels Matilda and Emmanuel and a caravan full of wee grumbly elves. Get out the hot cocoa--this is charming seasonal listening for the whole family." (AudioFile)
I got this for my five year old to listen to in the car. Immediately, I was just as interested as he was. The story is magical. It brings all the good things of Christmas into the story. I enjoyed the European flavor too. It reminded me of Christmas in Germany. It will leave you with a smile on your face!
they're both great, but I love hearing Cornelia read her own stuff. It has a wonderful, ethereal quality.
I enjoy listening to books on my daily drive to my business sites.
A wonderful and unique story for children of all ages. A look into the world of Santa and how he's changed through the ages.
