What the Critics Say

"Rarely does one find a book with such prose. Flawless in both style and structure, it is rich in imagery and punctuated with light fillips of humor. The author manipulates her plot deftly." (The Horn Book)

    Story
"Not just for middle school kids... made me happy."

Beautifully read, incredible word artistry. I snatched this up when found it available and fell in love again. Its a children's book in the same sense that "The Giver" is for children. It leaves you wanting more of the magic.

    "Interesting Read"
Would you listen to Tuck Everlasting again? Why?

I would listen to Tuck Everlasting again because the story is highly detailed and bittersweet.

What other book might you compare Tuck Everlasting to and why?

I would compare Tuck Everlasting to a book like

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when the characters were on the pond in the boat and the elder was trying to make her understand the entire consequences of her decisions. The descriptions of the pond, the fish and the surroundings were eloquent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment in the book that moved me most came at the end when the couple understood and approved her decision and the sadness that the scene with the frog elicited.

    Any additional comments?

My son had to read this for an assignment and we both enjoyed the book immensely.
