Forced to stay with his childless aunt and uncle for the summer holidays, Tom is lonely and cross. There isn’t even a garden to play in. But when he creeps down at midnight and opens a certain door, there is the garden he longs for. There too is Hatty, the adventurous, lonely orphan who, like the garden itself, is touched by mystery. Why is one day summer, another sparkling winter?
Will Tom ever meet Hatty in daytime life? And can Tom find the answers to these questions before he must go home? Read by Jan Francis
