    "Girls Adventure"

Visualize Indiana Jones as an 11 year-old girl. My 9 year-old daughter listened to it in just 2 days.

If you could sum up Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos in three words, what would they be?

    Funny, educational, absorbing

What was one of the most memorable moments of Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos?

The climax where Theodosia is facing the Serpents of Chaos in the pyramid.

    Any additional comments?

I like good children's books, they usually have a level of humour that adults pick up . This one is just beautiful.

"Entirely fun and a good story for all ages."
What made the experience of listening to Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos the most enjoyable?

The main character handles all sorts of very grave, difficult and scary tasks with a matter of fact 'well no one else is going to do it' attitude. Her charming but clueless parents are, like parents can be, so tied up in their adult lives and concerns that they are unaware of what their children are up too. In this case it is all kinds of intrigue: With mummies and crazy cults and curses galore. You just have to like her plucky spirit, her self confidence and her desire to do right even in the craziest situations.

What did you like best about this story?

The blending of actual historical information into a good story. The voice of Charlotte Parry was perfect for the character and made her come alive. Also lots of action.

Have you listened to any of Charlotte Parry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not sure if I have listened to any other stories narrated by this performer. But she was wonderful.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Mummies and Jackals and curses oh my!

    Any additional comments?

Only that if you like this series you will probably also like the Enola Holmes stories. They have something of the same flavor, thought meant I think for young adults old enough not to be upset by some of the historical descriptions of 18th century London and the deplorable conditions of the poor there.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

While it may be geared for young audience, it found it enjoyable with a mild suspense element.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos?

The abilities of Theodsia which were not known by her parents but recognized by others.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Her exploits in Eqypt

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    A little of both

"An 11 Year Old Girl Saves the World"

A very precocious 11 year old girl saves the world from agents of chaos who wish to take over the world using ancient Egyptian curses and magic to aid their cause. Fans of Rick Riordan's "Red Pyramid" should enjoy this book.

I thought it well written, filled with fun characters and interesting Egyptian lore. At first, she seems to have the most neglectful, clueless parents in the world, but they redeem themselves in the end. She is given an impossible task by the head of a secret society which opposes the chaos agents. We have to grant extreme poetic license in order to suspend reality to a world where an 11 year old girl could be asked to do such a thing in complete secrecy with no outside help other than the Egyptian gods. Other than that, I found it delightful as I'm sure children 10 years and up will.

    "what a find this was"
Would you consider the audio edition of Theodesia and the Serpents of Chaos to be better than the print version?

yes the story is excellent and told in an intelligent way to its target audience whom many books patronize. The language and the decidedly odd heroine are a pleasure to read, but ms parrys performance is stellar I must say

What other book might you compare Theodesia and the Serpents of Chaos to, and why?

Maybe the wardstone chronicles which also feature a distinctive heroine Alice, and don't talk down to the young audience

    "Great"

What an amazing voice she has! The narration is just brilliant. The story is very exciting but leaves few surprises for a 30'something such as myself but for younger listeners I think it will keep them on the edge of their seat for the whole journey from beginning to end.
