LOVED this so much. A book I actually enjoyed and had my two kids (6 and 9) - and husband - laughing hysterically from beginning to end. Short and sweet, perfect for the drive home from school. Story was great and the narrator was excellent.
She found long ago she could get away with almost anything as long as she didn't stop to explain - Edith Wharton, The Old Maid
Jon Scieszka and Mike Ferreri are well matched. I loved it and so did my son and his best friend (ages 13).
My grandson and I, especially him, found this story highly amusing and worthy of much imitation throughout the day. Chicken Little and the Stinky Cheese Man are especially memorable. I fresh retelling of old fairy stories - short and enjoyable.
I am an audible addict for adult fiction and on a whim decided try children's books as well and download this book for my daughters and I to listen to. It is a silly (in a good way) parody of well known tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood becoming Little Red Running Shorts. The narrator was perfect. As expected, it was over my 4-yr-old's head, but my 6-yr-old could not stop laughing and even I laughed out loud in places as well.
I read this book to my kids when they were young and was delighted to find it at Audible. As I listen, I remember those wonderful days when I read aloud to my kids and how much fun and laughter this book brought us. Now I have it in audio and can play it in the car when I take the grandkids on an outing. They love it too. It is as great as ever. It's so much fun again!!
After hearing the word "Stupid" 20 times in the first 3 minutes, my six year old asked me to please stop the audio and play something else. Skip this one and Juni B Jones
What can I say, my kids adore this book and laugh everytime its on. After the first time they listened to it they were laughing, imitating the charaters, and asking for it again. It has a nice little twist on our normal fairytales that kids love, and the narrator was amazing at portraying the characters in a way that my kids remember and love. Would definately buy this book again.
