    "Fairy Tales come to life"

In this book two sisters meet fairy tale characters and find out that they are not always how the story portrays them. The girls are funny and brave. They don't always do what they are told to do. This is a fun book for a tween or grown-up with a playful spirit.

I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.

    "Very funny!!"

This is book 2, start with The Fairy Tales Detectives: The Sisters Grimm as book 1.

You have got to listen to these with your kids. Beware! This story ends abruptly without a resolution. You MUST get The Problem Child: The Sisters Grimm to have on hand. You won't be able to stop! These are so punk rock! (you'll get this comment once you start the series)

"What!!! No ending?Stay TUNED? Buy the next book???"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who enjoys being flopped out on the last sentence and gets to pony up for the next installment. A pox on that!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sisters Grimm?

The NOT ending that landing me on my sit-down right and tight.

What about L. J. Ganser’s performance did you like?

Ahhh...he's terrific! The voice changes, the inflections, the emphases in all the right places...everything but his not realizing that libRary has a first 'r', which is an egregious error.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Actually, I DID love the book...and would have given it a 5 if it had bothered to give me an ending.

    Any additional comments?

If there was any warning issued that this was an installment (not just part of a series) then I missed that entirely. Had I known I was bidden/forced to buy the next installment, I may have reconsidered purchasing this initially. However, [Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?] the series is darling and well written. Just not completed within this episode.
I will have to consider whether I'm going to continue on with this clever take on the faerie tales of the Grimm brothers and all other faerie and morality play characters.

Estate planning lawyer and mom to two boys. My older son liked audiobooks as an infant, and I've listened to a lot since then.

"Tied with the Riordan books as son's favorites"
What made the experience of listening to The Sisters Grimm the most enjoyable?

My son can't put these books down, and eagerly waited for the next installment. Other than the Riordan series, I haven't seen him that anxious to get the next book downloaded.

What did you like best about this story?

All of the allusions to fairy tales and other well-known stories.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

My 12 year old came close -- certainly was anxious each evening (our time to listen to books on tape) to get this playing.

    Any additional comments?

From an adult perspective I didn't love this series as much as my son -- but I would definitely recommend it to kids in his age group.

What did you love best about The Sisters Grimm?

It's full of warmth, fun, adventure, magic, mystery and humor.

What about L. J. Ganser’s performance did you like?

Awesome voices. You can't always tell there aren't 5 different people reading to you instead of one great talent

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I easily could have listened to it start to finish if time permitted.

    Any additional comments?

I make sure I have the next book in my queue before I finish one so I have no interuption between books. What an great series

What made the experience of listening to The Sisters Grimm the most enjoyable?

The whole family enjoyed listening. Mom & Dad like it as much as our 8 year old granddaughter, as we listened during our vacation road trip.

    Story
"Fun Tour of Ferry Port Landing Elementary School"
What did you love best about The Sisters Grimm?

What I enjoy most about The Sisters Grimm is the vividness of the characters. The entire story--as presumably it is in all of the other books--is told from Sabrina's perspective (the oldest Sister Grimm) and the emotional turmoil that she goes through in the story extended from the first book is well portrayed and, I think, could be a good teaching tool for young listeners. For example, Sabrina has a hard time trusting other "ever afters" because she knows that one of them kidnapped her parents. Her Granny Relda tries to help her see past her angry bigotry and in the end she learns some important lessons.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I think the book would be more enjoyable if it didn't end on such an awful cliffhanger! (No, it's still good. Listen to this book)

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Puck is admonishing his "troupes" is hysterical! I also love the first time the girls step into Puck's room.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

6th Grade is always hard, but for Sabrina, it could be monstrous!

    Any additional comments?

You may want to buy book 3 so you can continue the story soon since this one ends on quite a cliffhanger!
