"This book has a well-structured, suspenseful plot with lots of twists and turns and enough danger to keep young readers shivering. Background music, done to good effect, adds the feeling of an old-fashioned radio drama. Reader Laura Linney seems made to order....She keeps the pace lively and maintains just the right balance between narration and dramatization." (AudioFile)
This is one of the most enjoyable Nancy Drews we've heard. We listened to it as a family over and over.
Laura Linney's voice establishes Nancy Drew as a smart and sophisticated young lady. Laura's voice is very pleasant.
Audible has changed my life! Dry , itchy eyes were destroying one of my greatest pleasures - reading. Now I am experiencing books again!
Is the state of the world today getting to you? Nancy Drew books make great "comfort" reads and bring back the simpler days. I have great memories of reading these books as a kid and recently returned to them on Audible. They are marvelous to listen to at bedtime. I love Laura Linney here and have not enjoyed other narrators of the Carolyn Keene books.
Nancy Drew has never meant great literature or sophisticated mystery. Just take her as she is; it's a great change of pace.
First of all, this is one of my most favorite Nancy Drew books so I was very excited to see it in audio form. I was not disappointed! The narrator, Laura Linney, is just perfect. Her tone of voice, the speed of her reading, the background music...it all made for a very entertaining and thrilling listen. I was able to vividly picture in my own mind everything that was being read to me. A definite must have!
The narrator in this story was of excellent quality. The best part in this, was when Nancy Drew kept trying to figure out the hidden code.
