"Hank and his tales are hilarious....John R. Erickson's expressive, versatile, and energetic performance brings his own creation to life perfectly. Music and sound effects throughout complement this delightful tale, which will have listeners howling at Hank, the coyotes, and maybe the moon." (AudioFile)
This is the ultimate!Even though it is the first in the series, it is extremely good.Keep on writing Mr.Erickson!
Retired high school English teacher. I liked and worked with the at-risk student. Interested in about everything, but I love a good story.
Hank is falsely accused of the ultimate crime for a ranch dog -- chicken killing! Hank's adventures will intrigue pre-teens and entertain them even on a long trip across the wilds of Wyoming.
Absolutely! The pace and story line moves right along. The students are always disappointed when I stop reading and beg me to keep reading. That's why I got the Audible version, I was losing my voice I read so much. Also, the author reading it and the background music made it, well, Wow!
He reads it the way he meant it to sound. It was fun to hear what he emphasized vs. my reading of it.
Yes, at the end when Hank chose to save Drover and the ranch.
I read this book every year to my 4th grade class. It is one of the funniest, most humorous books I have read.
HANK WAS SO CONFIDENT ABOUT HIS ABILITIES THAT IT WAS COMICAL. THE MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND
A SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY
YES, A GREAT CARTOON
The background music was VERY annoying and distracting!!!! The story itself might have been better without all that hokey music. I did like that it was read by the author. My kids enjoyed it more than I - which is why we actually finished listening (I would have turned it off before the first chapter was over).
I was looking for something light to listen to at work and thought Hank would be perfect. After reading most of the books to my kids years ago I knew the stories were entertaining and not too involved. For some reason background music was added behind the narrator's voice making this audio book unbearable. I could only listen for about 5 minutes before turning off my ipod. As a mother of four I can honestly say that I don't think kids would even be able to take the background music for very long.
