Publisher's summary

The New York Times best-selling series continues with a thrilling revelation - brand-new tribes of dragons!

For centuries there have been rumors of another continent on the dragons' planet - another land far across the ocean, populated by tribes of dragons very different from those we know. But there's never been any evidence, and most dragons dismissed the rumors as fairy tales.

Until now.

Because it turns out the stories are true. And the other tribes are coming.

Very entertaining

The overall book as a whole was fantastic. It has everything that you want in a good book. My one knock on the book though, is that there were some major plot-holes in the rising/falling action. Yet overall, I rate this book 10/10.

AWESOME!! 😍 One problem though...

This story was amazing! At the end though it was slow and creepy... FANTASTIC THOUGH!! Do you know at the end of the book some guy reads it instead of Shannon Mic Nanis (sorry if I spelled it wrong) It was really slow and creepy and it just kinda creeped me out. I listen to Audible every night so the voice malfunction thing made me kinda unsettled and made me stay awake longer...

LOVE IT!!!!!! Except...

It was totally awesome except at the end credits the voice went all slow-mo and demonic and I FREAKED OUT. Somebody should really get on that. I had NIGHTMARES, people! NIGHTMARES! I honestly have to stay awake for the whole thing (I normally listen to audio books at night) in order to avoid it. If I don't, well, I'll be awake pretty soon and think the devil is after me. Otherwise it was a delight.

Pantala is a delight. Also there's a scary glitch?

No spoilers:

So, at the time I'm writing this (July 11th 2018), the regular "thanks for listening" outro is really slowed down and distorted. It scared me out of my skin. Just, the book ends, there's a spell of dead silence, and then Demons Come For Your Soul. Don't know what that's about.

Anyhow, the story was lovely. I love Clearsight, so seeing her legacy was fantastic. The new tribes and everything around them were fascinating to explore! One subjugated by another, one driven to the brink of extinction, one abusing the word of an ancient savior... Cool beans.

The powers and environments are awesome. If you loved those in the previous books, there's so much more to love here!

The romance comes across as a little forced or contrived, but it's aggressively cute and by the end I liked it a lot.

The main character starts out kind of annoying, but that makes his growth that much more satisfying.

The "human" subplot makes a rather significant step in this book. I wouldn't mind a fourth series focusing on the age where humans and dragons finally start communicating.

My favorite part (that wasn't a power or world building) was probably petty bickering matches. Those cracked me up! And who knew the power of pettiness could be used for Good?

I'm excited to see how the two continents might interact in the future!

As always, Shannon McManus delivered a stellar performance. I'm sure whatever books come next will be well worth the wait.
