Story
The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power, it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman, down on his luck, and his supreme ordeal, a relentless, agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. Here Hemingway recasts, in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat, of personal triumph won from loss.

Story
One of the 20th century's enduring works, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a widely beloved and acclaimed novel known throughout the world and the ultimate achievement in a Nobel Prize-winning career. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. Rich and brilliant, it is a chronicle of life, death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. In the beautiful, ridiculous, and tawdry story of the Buendía family, one sees all of humanity, just as in the history, myths, growth, and decay of Macondo, one sees all of Latin America.

C. S. Lewis's dazzling allegory about Heaven and Hell - and the chasm fixed between them - is one of his most brilliantly imaginative tales, where we discover that the gates of Hell are locked from the inside. In a dream, the narrator boards a bus on a drizzly afternoon in Hell and embarks on an incredible voyage to Heaven. Anyone in Hell is invited on board, and anyone may remain in Heaven if he or she so chooses. But do we really want to live in Heaven?

Charming - A Timeless Classic Full of Sincerity
A beautiful little story for children and those who remember what it was like to be children. It made me laugh and smile and broke my heart.
Humphrey Bower's narration is perfection - the icing on an already delicious cake. His voice will make you want to look up at the stars, think of long-gone friends, and somehow - manage to hear their laughter.

Pleasant fairy tale of our purpose in life
Put on your dream hat to imagine the various travels of the little prince. In his innocence, curiosity and meeting of different personalities this little prince was able to assess what in life was important to him. He realized that what meant the most to him was that he cared for his favorite living creatures, what else is life for?

The perfect book
Something made me think about this book, which I hadn’t read in 40 years. Since I couldn’t find my copy, I decided to download the audio. Even though I couldn’t see the pictures, listening to this story was a moving experience.

best book ever!
This is a movie that can make you cry, if you still own your soul, and remember the old- person... You will cry when you realize your war in solitude again in the world. the crowd out there. And you will cry when you remember somewhere in your life, met the pilot and ignored him, letting him die alone. You will cry when you realize after you awaken, the world has been corroded by ugly baobab trees, just because you have been lost for a long time. And the sunset comes, not to end, but to revive ... It has been a long time that people have made a film that can make you laugh for fun, and make you cry in a deep contemplation.

A sweet, sometimes funny story
You never know how adult-like you are till seeing such things through the eyes of a child! This was written before society became child-centric, when a child's questions were often ignored. St-Exupéry was ahead of his time, I think, viewing the child's perspective as valid and valued! I only don't understand why Audible carries this book in Spanish, Italian, and German, but not in French ?! It would have been nice for me to listen to this in its original language! Merci!
