Is this Armageddon for the Artemis Fowl?
Opal Koboi, power-crazed pixie, is plotting to exterminate mankind and become fairy queen. If she succeeds, the spirits of long-dead fairy warriors will rise from the earth, inhabit the nearest available bodies and wreak mass destruction. But what happens if those nearest bodies include crows, or deer, or badgers - or two curious little boys by the names of Myles and Beckett Fowl?
Yes, it’s true. Criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl’s four-year-old brothers could be involved in destroying the human race. Can Artemis and Captain Holly Short of the Lower Elements Police stop Opal and prevent the end of the world?

Yes. Love the Artemis Fowl series, and this is an exciting ending.
Love Nathanial Parker reading.
Not really - not that sort of book.
I have been a hugh fan of Artimis Fowl in the first 7 novels, and really like the interaction between the fairy world and normal people, the high pace and the funny plots. But I must say that you can feel that Eoin Colfer has run out of momentum for the last book in the series and you have a feeling that he really wants to close it. When you are used to a large diversity in new high tech gadgets and a really funny dialog this book is somewhat disappointing and a bit boring.I would recommend to read the first 7 novels and leave it at that.
I need some C8H10N4O2
I enjoyed the final book in the series, just as much as all the other books. Artemis has really grown as a character, and the old gang are back together for a final adventure!
A lot happens in this story, and not all of it is nice! I think the writer really pushed the boundaries. The performance was great as always.
This is the last book in the series and Eoin Colfer has tied up all the loose ends from the previous books. It has a feeling of finality about it and one fears at times what that may mean for the main characters but it is also a book of hope. There is the characteristic humour running throughout the book intertwined with deeper moments. This is a book about friendship in all its different forms and is wonderfully narrated by Nathaniel Parker. A book to be enjoyed as much by adults as children.
"A great end to a lovely series"
All the Artemis Fowl books are enjoyable stories and this one is certainly no exception in that sense. It's a bittersweet read though, since it is the final installment in the series. Nathaniel Parker deilvers another great performance - his reading style is flowing and easy to listen to and his interpretations of the characters are sensible, organic and very well done.
Tears in my eyes. Such a collosal and great series. Forever loved and forever missed!
"The Great Finale!"
Once again a thrilling Artemis Fowl adventure. It definitely lives up to the preceding adventures with its fast-paced and action-packed plot full of twists and turns. A worthy finale.
However, I found it distracting that I had to get used to a new narrator. Not that I'm criticising Mr. Nathaniel Parker's efforts. He does it rather well. But after listening to Gerry O'Brien's take on how the characters' voices sound in the 7 preceding books, it was often confusing hearing a different voice than the one I had become so used to in the preceding books.
Can't b beat
A great re read
Loved it very tense changes all because it's only butler holly and artemis fowl vs loads of Odets including family
"Not bad but not great, either."
There is always a danger with final books in a series that the author will attempt to bind up all the loose threads and end up with a less than satisfactory book as a result and I think that is true of this book. The stock characters appear as stereotypes and the climax is deus ex machina on steroids.
The reader is not the same as the other books but I did not find it a problem. It's different but not distracting.
Overall, this is one for the Artemis Fowl fans and not one to inspire someone to read others in the series.
"Good - Story is getting a little predictable now"
I've loved this series since the beginning. Artemis and the members of the L.E.P. are very entertaining characters and I have enjoyed listening to Nathaniel Parker's excellent performance throughout. Having said that, this last book was just a little predictable and using characters that really don't quite work as the evil villains that you really want for this type of fiction. In short, still entertaining but nothing new.
"Colfer Does it Again"
While I have reread (and relistened to) the first few books in the series I've not been as impressed by the later entries. This one? While I won't listen to it again soon, I could see coming back to it in the future.
My favorite character in the Artemis Fowl series will always be Butler.
I think that overall I'd put this book in the middle of the pack, not as good as the first few in the series but better than the few that came before it. It has a lot of the standard ingredients we've come to expect in a somewhat novel combination, but still lacks the originality of the first few novels. But this is said with the understanding that the entire Artemis Fowl series is extraordinarily well done and there is no reader (or listener) I wouldn't recommend it to no matter what age.
"Another Tour de Force"
This story continued the excellent storyline Eoin Colfer has set out previously, Nathaniel Parker is the perfect narrater.
Any of the other Artemis Fowl series.
Has to be Artemis
This was downloaded for my 2 boys who listened to it over several sittings. And tend to re-listen to it at night as a bedtime story.
"As excellent as ever"
Eoin Colfer must be one of the best most entertaining writers around. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single book in the Artemis series. The performance from Nathaniel Parker is fantastic and has mattured as Artemis has over the years. Its amazing how each book has told more of the history of the fairy people and this novel has not let the side down. When is the next episode due.
