Publisher's summary

A dangerous few months lie ahead, ones which some of us will be hard-pressed to survive.

Thomas Ward has served as the Spook's apprentice for three years. He has battled boggarts, witches, demons, and even the devil himself. Tom has enemies: The Fiend stalks him, waiting for a moment of weakness. The terrifying Morrigan, goddess of witches, warned him never to step foot on her homeland, Ireland.

But now war has consumed their own country, and Tom, his friend Alice, and the Spook must flee to Ireland. The dark rages strongly there. No one can be trusted. Can Tom defeat the creatures that hunt him most fiercely?

One of the few books

that grabs my attention and KEEPS it. The time just goes by too quickly and I'm left trying to figure out when the next one is coming out...and can I wait?

My only complaint is I heard the movie version will have an adults playing Tom and Alice...NO, NO, NO!

This series was recommended to me by someone who thought it better than the Potter books--and I agree.

A great entry in the series

Evan Welch does a fantastic job yet again with his reading. Delaney’s story continues to grip you and envelope you into the world of the Dark.

Favorite series I think it’s super underrated and doesn’t get enough credit, definitely worth checking out

Rage of the Fallen

By this time we’ve walked with Tom,Alice and the John Gregory for a while. The Dark is closing in. War has driven our heroes to Ireland and things are not well...chills and twists all around. This is one of those series that are almost perfect (sadly Mr. Welsh passed away before the series ended and he was BLEEPING perfect). If you’ve come this far take another step. You won’t regret it.

A life long fan!!!!!!

ever since book 1 I have been hooked I owe you a debt of gratitude for the time and everything I invested in to reading instead of Gawd knows what. And now my siblings and family can equally rival Mister Potter and his Adverse reality of injuncted trauma and strain. Now the world has Mister Potter and Mister Ward in the collective body of Fiction non fiction that itself injuncts with A wrinkle in time and Artemis Fouwl the Magician extraordinaire

Scary but good

Where does The Last Apprentice: Rage of the Fallen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I could hardly wait to listent to this book every day. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to finish it, yet I didn't want it to end. I will buy more of the series. Great story, great narrator.

What other book might you compare The Last Apprentice: Rage of the Fallen to and why?

In some ways it was similiar to Harry Potter, only darker, with witches and bogarts and "the dark". Good versus evil. A young hero against the dark forces.

What does Christopher Evan Welch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He certainly made each character their own. He was amazing at individualizing each character's voice, they truly came alive

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Beware of the dark!

Any additional comments?

I loved this book. I am going to go back to the beginning and listen to the entire series. I find it hard to believe that this book is a "teen" book. It has some pretty scary, bloody stuff in it.
