Adara could not remember the first time she had seen the ice dragon. It seemed that it had always been in her life, glimpsed from afar as she played in the frigid snow long after the other children had fled the cold. In her fourth year she touched it, and in her fifth year she rode upon its broad, chilled back for the first time. Then, in her seventh year, on a calm summer day, fiery dragons from the North swooped down upon the peaceful farm that was Adara's home. And only a winter child and the ice dragon who loved her could save her world from utter destruction.
The Ice Dragon is an unforgettable tale of courage, love, and sacrifice by one of the most honored fantasists of all time.

George R R Martin has alway writen a good story. The Ice Dragon makes another good listen.
I enjoy longer more involed story lines better than short stories. How ever Ice Dragon is a very fine short listen. Give it a try.
It is a nice story, I enjoyed it but was surprised when it ended.
I haven't listened to this author before.
I haven't listened to this narrator before.
Wish it were a longer story
I knit and listen to audiobooks. I have been a member since 2005, but then I listened at work
yes- each story adds a facet to the song of ice and fire world
The narrator is perfectly fine until she gets to any word beginning with "wh" because she accentuates the H before the W and it is absolutely maddening once you notice it. Hweel, Hwy, Hwat, Hwen, etc. I also downloaded Going Clear on the same day and coincidentally the narrator for that book does the same thing, but not nearly as bad as Maggi Meg Reed. I will be avoiding her in all future purchases.
As one would expect from the author of "Game of Thrones", the story is a sad/happy one. Only George Martin could write a story with a happy ending while maintaining a sad story. Or is it the other way around? It depends on which compass point you look at it from, north or south.
Nice Dragons, a bit disturbing if you love Reptiles cause George should have been nicer to them with his pen. I'm praying to Tiamat all Dragons survive G.O.T.
The Ice Dragon is a brilliant tale that would be an ideal introduction to epic fantasy for children. Set in the same world as his Song of Ice and Fire series, The Ice Dragon tells the story of a Winter child and an Ice Dragon. Together they save their country from the advancing enemy and their dragons. Brilliant narration by Maggi Meg Reed makes the book easy to follow and listen to.
