Not thrilled with how he did tigger

Other than the narrator's choices for how to portray tigger was simply annoying as all heck, this is well read. And it's Winnie the Pooh so there's not much negative to say about the story. Granted I knew most of the tales from things like Disney and Tao of Pooh... but this was my first time 'reading' it ... listened while roadtripping #childrensliterature #classic #tagsgiving and #sweepstakes

I love winnie the pooh

I happened upon the two short poetry books first. And was quite enamered with them. As a singer song writer I. Am drawn to this style. Then i saw the books. Wonderfly written. For some reason ive never read any of this. Raised on disney I suppose. However I am very glad I found this. Better scope for the imagination. Because it is not not served visually. I have to picture them in my minds eye. I suffer from vivid nightmares and these happy childrens books stop them dead in their tracks. Thank you so much for including them in the plus catalogue.

I've always LOVED this book. Even if you don't have kids this is a MUST read for everyone.!

Winnie the Pooh. Spot on!

Dennis had my 7 & 8 year old laughing out loud with his wonderful character voices. Especially piglet. Every child should be read these stories and now I'd say every child should be treated to Peter's rendition of this beloved classic.

The reading and background music is excellent. They add depth to the classic Children’s tales. Had me tear up at the end.

I love the imagination!

Oh that everyone could have the opportunity to be bored and have to use their imagination to pretend a world of animal friends and clever poems and adventures.

Such a gorgeous execution

And no matter when and where, the little boy and his bear will always be playing. This was the most gorgeous line of the book. It touched my heart with such a force I didn’t think possible.

And Tigger too!

After reading several books on pretty heavy topics, it was time to read something light, and what could be lighter than the adventures (misadventures) of a group of stuffed animals in the imagination of their boy, Christopher Robin. Yes, I decided to read a children’s book. 

The House at Pooh Corner is the book where Tigger comes into the story, and Tigger is my favorite of all the “characters” in the stories. He doesn’t have a major role in the book, but we begin to get to know his “personality” that will show through in other books in the Pooh series of books. And, it is here where the scheming of Rabbit to get rid of, or at least rein in the bouncy Tigger backfires and leaves him the one who is lost and who is found by, of course, Tigger. 

Milne shows a knack for understanding the thinking of children and creating a word where the stuffed animals have life. His writing gives them their own unique personalities that just seem to match what we know about the real animals they represent. 

Forget politics and pandemics for a while and return to the simple life of Pooh, his friends, and their boy. Even better, read it to a child.

such a great listen ... fun times. love the narrators voice. what fun. if you were a fan of the books ...this will add a few more tidbits to your knowledge ...such a fan. ( ;
