Publisher's summary

The greatest superpower of all isn't to be part spider, part man, or to cast magic spells—the greatest power is the power to create. Daniel has that power. Daniel's secret abilities—like being able to manipulate objects and animals with his mind or to recreate himself in any shape he chooses—have helped him survive. But Daniel doesn't have a normal life. He is the protector of the earth, the Alien Hunter, with a mission beyond what anyone could imagine. From the day that his parents were brutally murdered in front of his very eyes, Daniel has used his unique gifts to hunt down their assassin. Finally, with the help of The List bequeathed to him in his parents' dying breath, he has located the killer. Now, on his own, he vows to take on his father's mission—and to have vengeance in the process.

WOW!

I don't normally write reviews but this book forced me to. Did James Patterson even bother to read this book before endorsing it with his name. This was with out a doubt the worse book I ever read (or tried to, couldn't finish it!!)

Very suprising... not in a good way

Would you try another book from James Patterson and/or Milo Ventimiglia?

From Patterson yes, BUT NOT from this series. Narrated by Milo Ventimiglia, definitely not.

What could James Patterson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Writing to a more mature audience. If this was written for a younger audience, I think Patterson underestimates young readers.

What didn’t you like about Milo Ventimiglia’s performance?

His narration was like a novice reader practicing punctuation inflections after just learning the difference between a period and an exclamation point. It was also frustrating listening to the unexpected pauses in the middle of sentences.

What character would you cut from The Dangerous Days of Daniel X?

The characters weren't the problem. It was their dialogue. Golly gee shucks, it was like listening to Gomer Pyle talk.

Any additional comments?

I had listened to many James Patterson books and was excited to come across this series by Patterson. I have enjoyed many books that may be targeted to the younger audience, but I don’t think that anyone over the age of 10 would find this book worth more than 2 stars. I listened to the whole book in hopes that it would get better, but it never happened for me.The other problem was the narration by Milo Ventimiglia. His reading was probably one of worst narrations that I have ever heard. With unexpected stumbles and over exaggerated exclamation points, his reading sounds like that of a second grader. Listening to Milo during the dramatic or serious moments gave me the feeling of listening to a 9 yr old singing a love song.

Dangerous days of Daniel X

Too weird for me...want my $$ back
Too much SCI FI strangeness.
Leave Men in Black to Will Smith.
I’ll stick to Alex Cross & Women’s murder club.

Dont do it.

I'm sure the narrator was doing his job but the book wears on you and his voice gets over whelming, obnoxious.

This is wrote for 10 year olds. I agree why are there drugs and the description of his with girls is not rude but inappropriate for the audience.

Its wrote in first person, as if a 10 year old telling you a made up story.

The use of references are lame, perhaps the age of the audience? " Did you see lord of the rings 1,2 and three"

Sooo bad, I want my money back.
If this was for kids. I wouldn't pollute their mind with this garbage. I would get the tripod trilogy I stead.

Goofy, would be all right for teenagers

Not what I expected at all. There isn't much of a coherent overall plot, and while I understand it's written from the perspective of a 15 year old boy, it sounds like it was written BY a 15 year old boy. I'm thinking it would be an OK young adult book but it doesn't seem to be marketed that way. If it wasn't short, I wouldn't finish it. And, don't get me wrong, I quite like young adult books (some of my favorite books are the Wrinkle in Time series) and I enjoy sci fi and magic stories, but this one was just... goofy.
