I bought this audio book for my 7-year-old daughter to listen to on a long car trip. It turned out that my jaded 12-year-old son was enthralled as well. Now, that's good.
My nine year old daughter has enjoyed the Nancy Drew stories more than any other audio book we've listened to. The stories are also engaging enough to make the time pass quickly for all of us on those long car drives. The narration is clear and engaging. Some sound effects also contribute nicely to the story telling. Although the stories are somewhat old fashioned (which I actually appreciate) I am also impressed that the lead character is a strong, intelligent independent young woman and serves as a great role model for my daughter - something I believe too many stories and tv shows today are lacking. My only regret is that the audio books appear to stop at Book 7. I hope audible can add more to this collection, if they are available.
I loved reading Nancy Drew as a girl but now my daughter loves listening to it. We have the first four books and they are a hit. She listens to them over and over. I really feel I've gotten my money's worth and would recommend them.
I gave it 10 minutes (if that) and my daughter and I just couldn't bear listening to it. Hard to understand. Don't waste your money, I'm actually going to request a refund.
A great story, full of truth, friendship, empathy and seeking for justice. Nancy is the best!
