Captured by a giant!
The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants - rather than the BFG - she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

Totally. Because it's a very good book and very funny.
I am 8 years old and I loved listening to this book. It's very funny. It's totally good.
I read this story as a child and loved it! Now I had the great pleasure of listening to this story with my son who in turn loved it as much as I did! The narration was brilliant and was made even better by the frequent sound effects! The story was just as thrilling to listen to as I remembered! I believe we have found a family road trip favorite!

My 10 year old daughter and my 12 year old son loved it and so did I! They both said it was 5 stars and they loved the narrator. David Walliams was very expressive and he was perfect at bringing the characters to life! The story also had an occasional sound effect gently added into the background which made the story even more fun. We have a paperback edition of the book which my kids used to follow along. Every few pages had a simple illustration that they enjoyed seeing as the story was told. I highly recommend this audiobook!
I had heard of Roald Dahl from a TV show in the '70s or so, but never read his books. My daughter requested this as the next audiobook for our drives to school. Her teacher had read it to the class. My son hadn't heard it.
It may be a bit too gruesome for preschoolers, but 8-year-olds love scary stories. The plot contains the right mix of humor, and the plethora of hybridized words--nearly every sentence spoken by The BFG contains one or more--forces you to pay attention to every word.
We always listen to a children's book on the way to and from school and the BFG has accompanied us the last two weeks and it has been a joy! I have laughed aloud numerous times and the kids couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Truly great performance.
I listened to this book with my 6 year old son and 9 year old daughter.
At times I found the giant a little hard to understand but overall we enjoyed it. There was lots of laughs and although
we gave Matilda 5 stars BFG wasn't far behind.
We listened to this with our two little boys and I think we enjoyed it more than our kids! It is a very delightful and thoroughly enjoyable story.
