Captured by a giant!
The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants - rather than the BFG - she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

Totally. Because it's a very good book and very funny.
I am 8 years old and I loved listening to this book. It's very funny. It's totally good.
After reading the reviews I thought I would purchase this book for my 8 and 10-year-old daughters. The 8 y/o is my reluctant reader. She was instantly mesmerized by the story, and would request listening to it upon getting into the car, at the grocery store, and so on. I now catch her stealing away to read from her library books at night, which was the original goal anyway.
She has listened to this book 4 times now even though I have purchased other audiobooks for her that she has enjoyed. She says this one is the best so far. I have to admit, I like it as well.
The narrator is pretty fantastic, the story is well written, and the small sound effects are an extra bonus.
This is REALLY a fabulous listen for all.
My kids were transfixed by this story and narrator. My 5yo daughter came up to me midway through and asked for an empty bottle so she could catch our dreams <3
The narrator brought this book to life.
The author is terrific. Love the made-up words and the fact that you can understand what is meant by each one.
