Publisher's summary

Jurassic World meets Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in this epic new middle grade series full of heart-pounding action and breathtaking chills!

One hundred and fifty years ago, the first dinosaurs were cloned. Soon after, they replaced humans at the top of the food chain. The only way to survive was to move into underground compounds....

Five years ago, Sky Mundy's father vanished from North Compound without a trace. Now she has just stumbled on a clue that not only suggests his disappearance is just the tip of an even larger mystery but also points directly to the surface. To find her dad - and possibly even save the world - Sky and her best friend, Shawn, must break out of their underground home and venture topside to a land reclaimed by nature and ruled by dinosaurs.

Perfect for fans of Brandon Mull, Lisa McMann, and Rick Riordan, this exhilarating debut novel follows two courageous friends who must survive in a lost world that's as dangerous as they've always feared but also unlike anything they could ever have imagined.

My 9 yo dyslexic son -"This is the best book ever"

Thank you for making such a great book an audio book! It makes an incredible difference for those who struggle to read, but comprehend so much! My son listened finished the book on 1 day, I had to force him to stop for food. He has never been so excited and engrossed in a book. Thank you!

Fun for the Entire Family

Reading the book with my 8 year old, we read a chapter listen to the chapter, read listen and so on (really helps with fluency) I found myself enjoying it so much I went ahead and finished both the book and audio! And still engaged going through it with my kid! Great book, great reading, really well done.

Good book with a subpar reading

Every sentence is read with questionlike inflection and choppy phrasing. The book itself is engaging so, if a different reading is available, I'd choose the other one.

Engaging plot not just for kids!

This book brings you right in from the very beginning. Somehow an under world becomes believable and your mind starts to imagine what if and then another world comes into view! Don't leave the excitement for the kids, adults will thoroughly enjoy this book also. And teachers I understand from the author's blog there are lesson plans to go along with this book!
And once again I love Emma Galvin's work. I highly recommend this book!

Couldnt stop listening!!

Great book. It was a little hard for me to get into at first but then by chapter 2, I was hooked.
A good read for both boys and girls.
The author pulls you in so you will want to read her 2nd book as soon as you finish the 1st one.

My 6-year-old and my inner teenager LOVE THIS BOOK

My son and I have a fair commute to his school everyday, so we decided that audio books would be a more entertaining use of our time than the same old music every day. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but OH. MY. GOSH! I loved it so much and my son loved it too. It's like Jurassic Park meets The Hunger Games. Talk about exciting!

Emma Galvin does a splendid job with her performance. Her narration of the suspense scenes is awesome! I felt like I was there. I actually wanted to continue listening to this book on my own once I dropped my son off at school. Totally not just for the little ones.

Great for family listening

My 11 year old and I enjoyed listening to this together, although my picky 17 year old rolled her eyes at it and put on headphones. The performer's voice and acting is ok, but her cadence is repetitive and overly dramatic. The ending if the story is very incomplete, which was a great disappointment.
