Everyone's favorite neurotic second-grader is back, with a complete collection of the funniest and most touching Alvin Ho books to date.
Lenore Look’s touching, drop-dead-funny audiobook about an Asian American second-grader has tons of boy appeal and is great for reluctant readers/listeners. The previous books in the series, Alvin Ho: Allergic to Girls, School, and Other Scary Things and Alvin Ho: Allergic to Camping, Hiking, and Other Natural Disasters, have received rave reviews. “Alvin’s a winner,” declares the New York Post, and Newsday says, “The novel... shares with Diary of a Wimpy Kid the humor that stems from the hero’s Herculean efforts to manipulate the world around him in his favor, without all the facts at his disposal.” Perfect for beginning and reluctant readers/listeners alike, Alvin Ho perfectly captures the trials and tribulations of boyhood.

My 8 year old son, who is almost always reluctant to read or be read to, actually asked to listen to Alvin Ho DAILY! We enjoyed the first narrator a lot more than the one who read books 3 and 4. Nothing bad about the second narrator... we just got hooked on the first one.
Ok, so I was torn on getting this book because of the mixed reviews I had read on it. I did though, and do not regret it. My children love this neurotic kid. We have been listening to this story every night and they adore it. We joke about our own PDK's (if you read the book you'll understand), and how his decisions affect him. This series has been a great hit. Not one of our favorites, but definitely worth the time.
"Laugh out loud comedy, good for all ages!"
I bought Alvin Ho for my little brother (age 6) as he likes to listen to stories while going to sleep at night. Not only does he absolutely love it, but my 12 year old brother & I (age 14) often creep in bed with him so we can all listen to it together. My mum normally comes in and throws us out, as we are making too much noise laughing!
Alvin Ho is hilarious, he is afraid of everything and his funny tales will appeal to all ages.
