Tom Sawyer emanates self-confidence wherever he goes. With his buddy Huck Finn, pretty Becky Thatcher, cantankerous Aunt Polly, and a host of others, let's begin a journey to the time of riverboats, fishin' holes, and midnight grave robbers. Each character is brought to life through the sparkling narration of B.J. Harrison.

Fun Summer Reading

I have never read Tom Sawyer. Reading it with our children has been fun. We plan to read more of Mark Twains work.

Wonderful narration

This wonderful narration brings this iconic American Classic to life. The varied voices create vivid images in the listeners mind of the famous characters. The comic episodes are laugh out loud funny though clearly from another time in our history, and the drama, meant for young readers, entertains adult listeners as well. I'm glad I decided to reread this .

Great Classic

Narration was clear, enchanting, and engulfed the listener. Easy to follow along and understand relationships. Even though it's based on a young boy's adventures, listening to it as an adult renews the imagination and increases the flow of creativity juices. Listening to books like these and narrated by BJ Harrison had me smiling in traffic and got caught up in the excitement of the story. Recommended to adults with a long commute and in need of an escape.

great classic with B.J Harrison.

I love this Mark Twain classic! BJ Harrison always does a fantastic job bringing to life a story. Whether it's old American English or stuff from across the pond. he does a great job.

This narrator sucked the joy out of the tale

I thought by the sample I listened to that this was going to be a good narration of a childhood favorite, but several chapters in, I realized I was not enjoying myself. I could not figure out exactly what was wrong, for I couldn't point to anything objectionable in particuler. There was just no life to a story I knew was full of it.

I switched to the version narrated by Grover Gardner, and the magic returned. He brought an energy to the tale that Mr. Harrison's performance doesn't for me.
