I loved this book!!

I read it back in middle school, I'm graduated highschool and still love it!! ugh. Now I'm about to listen to the sequel!!

It's all in the words! And I'm saying WOW!

Would you listen to Shiver again? Why?

I've listened to it twice so far, and it just keeps getting better. I've also listened to Linger and Forever, the other books in this trilogy. Maggie Stiefvater is a poet masquerading as a novelist! And, in the audiobooks you soon learn that she is also a musician!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Grace and Sam, of course! Without giving anything away, they are so polar opposites, but are meant for each other.

Which scene was your favorite?

The beginning. No, it's the middle. No, no, it is definitely the ending!!!
AND NO, I will not spoil this book for anyone! Read It! It is ALL in the words. It is why some great books can never be translated into movies. It's the words.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was hooked from the first chapter... and yes, there is some crying envolved. So if you don't like getting all emotional, don't read it.

Any additional comments?

I took a chance on a novelist I'd never heard of, by narrators I'd never listened to, in a genre of books (YA) that is not my age group, and I was greatly rewarded! There is nothing better than that! Thank you Audible! Thank you Maggie!!!

2nd time

First time I read this it was a book I devoured and got lost in. I’ve wished to read it again but needed it in audio. Praise heaven for audible escape to allow me to truly retreat into this love and emotion filled story.
I live this author, I love how deeply I sink into her words.
The narrators did a great job with this story.
I recommend this to anyone but especially to people looking for love and acceptance.

I love this book. It’s a young adult romance with enough sexual tension to make it a romance novel and the few sexual scenes in the book aren’t blatantly inappropriate or obvious.

One of my favorite books of all time

Although this book was in the kids section it's more of a young adult book. loved it amazing book

Found this by chance...so glad I did!

I found this book by chance while looking for additional Jenna Lamia narrations. What a really excellent listen. Not only is the narration superb (as always with Jenna), the storyline was interesting and had that "Time Traveler's Wife" quality to it, constantly giving us the current temperature in the air. Loved everything about it and listened to it in just a few days. Sad that it was over and excited for Linger... (which is also excellent, btw!) - laurie eller

A favorite since junior high

I remember loving this book in junior high so I thought I'd revisit it in my early twenties. I enjoyed it more than I had expected too!

This wasn’t the best performance by any stretch, but the story is solid. It is pretty interesting, it reminds me of vampire diaries.

LOVE it!

This is my 2nd time ‘reading’ Shiver and it was just as good as I remember. I love the author’s descriptive way of writing that really helps you to picture what is being described. I also really like how there is intimacy, but not described in a pornographic way. I’ve seen others complain about the male reader’s voice, but it didn’t bother me too much. Yes they could have chosen someone who sounded younger, but he also didn’t sound terribly old. 10/10 recommend to satisfy the craving for a good werewolf romance!

A lovely, strange lovestory

I loved this book. It's a young adult romance. There was enough sexual tension to maintain a romance, and what sex there was was discrete.

The love of a girl for the pack of wolves in the woods behind her house had a bizarre twist, integral to the plot.

None of the book was very realistic, but it wasn't meant to be. Werewolves don't exist...but here they do. Most kids of completely incompetent parents don't learn independence and thrive, although resenting their idiot parents. But accept that these kids did, and you'll dive into this story! The ending is a bit abrupt, although there is NOT a cliff hanger and I can't wait for the sequel! I hope that the same two readers read it as well...I loved their voices, (the point of view switched by the chapter between the boy and girl) and how they lived the simple, yet lovely dialog! It was lovely to listen to.
