Both a good story and an outstanding presentation with an authentic accent and change of voice by the narrator. Really enjoyed a book my son was reading in 3rd grade.

Very good book for kids. Excellent narration.

This story was very full of emotions but was great in showing how hard work pays off and the value of respect. Treating others how you want to be treated.

Importance of family and values

Shiloh is my second favorite book and it is amazing! Phyliss Reynolds Naylor did a great job writing this book (so realistic), and Peter MacNicol does a great job narrating this book. He makes it sound like he is telling the story. I also like that he kind of makes different voices for all the characters. AMAZING!

"Second Favorite Book!"

I loved this story. I am adult and listened to it as a Battle of the Books coach (this title was selected for 2024-25). It’s a very sweet and heartwarming story. I love the themes of caring for other living things, problems that come up when you tell a lie and the repercussions, learning that people are complicated and not all bad, and how to do the most right thing when faced with a problem that doesn’t have an easy answer. The reader was fantastic - I loved his accent to really bring alive the characters and how they would actually sound in the south. The only thing I didn’t love was the random music that would play at certain points out of nowhere. It was distracting to me.

Heartwarming story - music was distracting

My 11 year old son and I loved the voice of narrator. It added a sweetness to the story. We talked a lot about the theme of this book as well as what makes a lie and lie. If you are a dog lover this book will pull at your heartstrings! #happyending #sweepstakes #tagsgiving
