Nationally syndicated radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has long wanted to make history come to life for the children of his listeners. In this book, he travels back in time with fearless history teacher Rush Revere. With the help of his faithful talking horse, Liberty, Rush experiences American history as it happens, having adventure after adventure with exceptional Americans such as Paul Revere and George Washington. Rush is transported back to the deck of the Mayflower as it makes its momentous voyage across the oceans to land at Plymouth Rock.
Rush finds out quickly, though, that there's nothing so momentous about seasickness! Soon he is caught up in the early moments of our nation as the Pilgrims struggle to make a home for themselves in this new world. He continues to travel back and forth in time to better illuminate for his students the real-life aspects of this historic times. Ending with the first Thanksgiving, this book captures the bravery of the first settlers.

History made fun
True to the facts of history.
Luved this book even though I do not have children! Well done.
This is a great book for teaching American History and capitalism's principles. It is made even more enjoyable because it includes Rush, a man we know, and is read by him. Obviously, this would be the one man who would read it according to the way the author was thinking when he wrote it.
In a couple of sections, there were certain questions asked of one of the characters about what he had learned, and with each one, the answer was clear in my mind before the response.
Great book for both young and old. I hope with the success of this book Rush Revere is a series or maybe a tv show.
History made fun.
it was very well read and no complaints about the performance. but this is aimed more for a younger audience
the author uses time travel in a very special way to tell his story and keeps it very light. the story focuses on a very small portion of history, I thought more was going to be incorporated
he does a great job of showing excitement on his characters
the book was good, but it wasnt what I was expecting from its target audience. i could picture this as a great kids tv show or movie series.
Even though this is a kids book, I found it funny and enlightening. I learned things that were never taught to me in school. We listened with our 9 year old granddaughter through about 5 chapters and then bought her the book.
She loves it!
Even though I find Rush Limbaugh awfully funny and very smart, I really didn't think a children's book that he would write would be that good. But it was entertaining and he seems to understand how kids see things. It's a really inviting way to cover history for sure. I'm Canadian and not a kid, so I didn't actually finish it, but I enjoyed what I listened to more than I thought I would. I can't remember why I bought it, but perhaps just to see what it was like. He says the target audience is around 10 years old and that seems about right. Apparently the talking horse is getting fan mail!
I listened with my 2nd grade grandson. He loved it and was disappointed when it was over.
Retired former magazine editor who is working harder than ever as Mr. Dad to his 11-year-old daughter.
Listened to this book with my 11-year-old daughter (at 1.5 speed) as she read along with the printed copy. Of all the books I've listened to with her, this one kept her interest piqued more the most. The narrative mixes fiction and non-fiction together quite nicely and is sprinkled with humor that will appeal to listeners of all ages. And Rush's narration is top-notch, even at 1.5 speed. I hope Rush follows through with plans to continue the series. I'd advise Rush-Haters to hold their collective noses and have a listen to this book. You'll be glad you did.
About the middle.
Nothing to compare it to as it's one of a kind!
Rush brought the story and produced it and narrated it. With El Rushbo at the helm it had to be great, positive and a proud testimony for the America Way!
Go Liberty Go!!!
My Parents are 81 and 86...they are enjoying this book so very much!!
